Spring was in the air, or it had been for a while, though the season didn’t exactly mean the same things to him as it did to everyone else. Christopher wasn’t bothered by cold weather or snow like other people seemed to be, in fact, he preferred winter to any other season. Spring brought nothing but allergies, congestion, and temperatures far too warm for his liking. While most of the people around him had donned short-sleeved shirts and even shorts in the case of some people, he was still wearing a hoodie and jeans. He could have worn shorts with the hoodie, but he felt he was just a little too old for that particular look.
Tattooed knuckles rose to rub at irritated and bloodshot eyes as he stepped off the sidewalk. Why he was even outside was a mystery to him. He would have been better off inside, but he’d been inside for a while now. Even work wasn’t sending him out too much, and there was only so much sitting on his ass that the man could stand. He groaned softly, blinking several times in an attempt to clear his vision after his hands fell from his eyes.
He stepped back up onto the sidewalk as his eyes calmed enough for him to continue moving. He’d wanted to do a bit of jogging, but with the way his eyes were burning, the pressure in his nose, and what felt like a weight on his chest, that didn’t seem very feasible anymore. He should have went when he woke up, but ah well. There was nothing he could do about that now. His fingers picked at the cuffs of his sleeves as he resisted the urge to push them up. Why did Georgia have to be so hot, again? It was only April.

Spring was in the air! And with the sun out and the growing season starting once again, Jack couldn’t be happier- not that he wasn’t always happy to begin with, of course. Perhaps the surprisingly large amount of bills on his person might also have added to his glee. Perhaps it was the pills in his system. Who knew? Who cared? He could skip through busy streets and be fine or so he was sure at that moment in time! Chuckling to himself as he trounced up and down the streets for no particular reason, he turned down a block and strode about halfway down it when he caught a familiar profile crossing the street. While he may not have remembered every name and face he’d ever met, this particular one stood out all too quickly.
It was that one rich guy, wasn’t it? That rich guy with the rich family in drugs? Evans or something? Oh hell whatever! A wide grin ripped across Jack’s features as he practically skipped the rest of the distance that was held between them. “Hey Dmitri!” he called, the name coming in a burst of lip motions that not even Jack knew where from. How his mind had managed to find the name he had been struggling over only seconds ago, Jack didn’t worry about. There was no reason to. “Hey Dmitri! Remember me Jack?” he asked upon getting right up to him and bearing that wide grin. “What are you doing down here, eh?” he asked grinning wide.

Chris was in such a haze with his allergies that he might not have responded immediately to someone calling out to him with his given name. It might have taken a couple of tries, or even tapping him on the shoulder to catch his attention but even if the purple haired man hadn’t skipped toward him ridiculously, he still would have looked up immediately upon hearing his middle name. Dmitri. That one word was enough to cause him to jerk his head to the side, enough to stop him in his tracks, enough to make his blood run cold. No one that he wanted to be around would refer to him as that name.
Something akin to fear showed on his features for the briefest of moments before his eyes grew cold. He remembered Jack. How did one forget the purplette? He was almost impossible to forget, even if this might have been the first time Chris had ever seen him while he was sober. And in an act of bluntness that was easily something that ‘Dmitri’ would have done much more quickly than Chris, he heaved a sigh and rubbed his hand over his face. “Trying to avoid people like you.” Came the curt response as he stepped back, putting some distance between himself and the shorter man. This. This was exactly what he needed. One of the biggest pros of being sealed in the toybox for him had been getting away from people like the man standing before him. So fucking much for that, though, eh?
