Insignias
"What are they?"
Insignias are given to every character on the site. Each one is unique to the character. It can be located anywhere on their body. They can look like anything from a tatoo to a birthmark. These insignias are gifts given to the character that are supposed to help them throughout the game. A more familiar way to describe these insignias are familiars. These familiars are supposed to help guide you through life. In this sense, these insignias give people a certain edge to something. It can be anything from a small orb of light to animals or people. While Neutral insignias are usually given to improve their lives, those of the Law or Criminal factions will find their insignias to be more related to doing their jobs better.
An insignia can form a completely separate being or a internal ability. It can take the form of person, an animal, or even an item. It can also take the form of limited super strength, super vision, or even handling the elements. Each insignia is different.
For example:
a old Neutral faction woman has the insignia of her long lost daughter to keep her company. a Law Faction Police officer might have a police dog. a Criminal Faction male might have a the ability to turn partly invisible. Insignias have passive and active benefits. Active benefits are what drain energy. Passive benefits are common but not always required. They often pop up similar to the active boosts. For example if someone's has a familiar-based insignia, a character might hear the voice and see a ghostly aura in places. If someone controls fire, there might be a little fire spirit that hangs around occasionally. No one who has researched these in the past months know their exact purpose passively. Only actively, do they actually work in 'mythical' ways.
Because of this, not everyone reports what their passive ability is. Passives are just that though, passives. They cannot do anything like the insignias. They do not have powers and only seem to have a connection with the person.
There is only a few problems with the insignias. The more intensive or powerful the insignia is, the harder to control or to use it. While it certainly won't kill you, it might make you pass out every time a character uses it. If it's a fire based ability, your character might burn themselves. If it's a electric based ability then your character's nerves might go numb. Put a realistic drawback on it, and it'll be easy to accept. Keep it mostly realistic that a character won't be summoning a skyscraper tall dragon and it'll probably be fine. |

Leveling up Insignias
"How do we do that?"
Insignias are usually stuck at level 1. When a character is placed in the toybox, they start out with a level one insignia. Every character created will be started at a level one insignia.
The higher level insignia the more mentally and physically taxing it is. In general, each level doubles the time that it's able to be used. Usually- a level one cannot turn this ability on or off. It's used for the duration and normally tires someone out. At higher levels, one may be able to enhance an ability or be able to control it differently. For example if one has the power of a fireball, at level one it might be a small one and at level three it might create three fireballs.
If the level one is simply a dog, level five would be a three headed dog that decided to eat your enemies.
To keep it very simple and let people evolve in a straightforward manner is threading/posting. There are ways to skip the requirements but it's usually handed out at events and the like.
- Level 1 - What everyone starts with. Level 1 is the simplest and starts out with the character. Often times, they are rather restrictive and take a lot of effort to maintain. It can only be used once before power is wiped out for a while. The insignia cannot be activated for more than 4 posts.
- Level 2 - Less energy to maintain, more help in general, and gains a bit more power. It can be used more than twice at full power before the user is drained for a while. At least taken part in 3 threads, at least 15 posts. The ability cannot be activated for more than 8 posts.
- Level 3 - Usually the middle ground, where most people plateau. The gods will put higher tasks for you to reach and gain other levels. It is to test you to see if you can handle more power. At least taken part in 6 threads, at least 30 posts. The ability cannot be activated for more than 12 posts.
- Level 4 - Once fears are realized and understood, they gain more mental stamina and physical stamina. It takes little energy to maintain, but the body has yet to fully grow used to it. At least taken part in 9 threads, at least 45 posts. The ability cannot be activated for more than 16 posts.
- Level 5 - Almost no energy to maintain, able to twist and turn it the way they like and they have become quite skilled in using their insignia. At least taken part in 12 threads, at least 60 posts. The ability cannot be activated for more than 20 posts.

Wishes
"What are they?"
When a character is brought to the toybox, they gain completion of one wish. This one wish is usually small and singular. It is meant to only enhance the lives of that one person, not other people. Wishes are fulfilled at random. They can be important such as curing a fatal disease or as simple as giving you a endless supply of your favorite food. These are usually childish in nature. These wishes are not to gain ultimate power or become perfect. That would be too easy after all.
Wishes are not bound by factions so they can be anything a person would naively wish for with all their heart. Wishes are supposed to be childish and ridiculous in nature.
