Chiaki almost crawled under her desk. First an exam in a week, now a group project? She had to take Alexander to the hospital on top of that and she just wanted to table flip the whole classroom. Plus psychology students getting along? That was like…hilariously terrible. As she pulled out her book, she really did wonder who she could pair up with for the assignment. She hadn’t made too many friends in her psychology class since it only had recently started. Just a few faces to say hi to in the hall. She bit her lip slightly, feeling slightly awkward when everyone was already piling together. Trying to keep her normal façade together, she tried to figure out who she could ask. Cindy would be useless in the assignment since she would pair up with Evan who she had a crush on. Nick had a problem with her because of something Alexander had did- so more than likely he was going to deny her. She just needed someone to bloody do this paper with and be done with it. It’s not like she didn’t already know enough about the topic. Animal Assisted Therapy? She could write a book on it. Tucking her hair behind her ear, she looked around to see who was around her. The two people who she was going to ask were crowded around each other- so she guessed that was out. Chiaki cursed mentally and sighed quietly. Tilting her head upwards, she tried to see if anyone else was left. If she was abnormally lucky the class would have an odd number of people and she could do it herself. That was never going to happen- but she could try. Was she seriously the only one without a partner? Tag:@ Grayson Walker

A partnered assignment? While that might have stricken fear or anxiety into the heart of a less extroverted person, Grayson was positively delighted. Well, he wasn’t delighted with having to work. What the fuck did he care about a dog helping someone with anxiety or some shit like that? He didn’t. It would be a boring paper, but perhaps the person he chose as his partner wouldn’t be quite so boring. He knew the names of everyone the class, and he was on speaking terms with the vast majority of most of them. Well, what could he say? He loved having a large social circle, he loved learning new things about everyone and getting to know them. With that in mind, he waved off several people who approached him, using the excuse that he already had a partner in mind. He knew plenty about them, but who didn’t he know?
Bright blue eyes scanned the classroom, eventually falling on one Chiaki Ito. He knew her name from the roll, obviously. She was a quieter person, he wasn’t quite certain they’d ever spoken. But she didn’t seem to have a partner. Well, he could fix that. With a small grin, he pushed himself up from his seat and threaded his way easily through everyone who was up milling around searching for partners. “Hey there~” He greeted her, tilting his head as a kind smile appeared on his features. “You wanna be my partner?” He went on to question. Well, straight to the point. They would have time for small talk later, perhaps.

Chiaki looked down at the paper- wondering if there was anyone who specialized in animal assisted therapy. AAT- in general wasn’t that hard to learn about. It was basically just the social norms, what animals could be used, and what their bonds were for. She had a great bond with her animals at a time- so she was well aware the benefits of animal therapy. She hoped that maybe she could take a few pictures and try to show that they were helpful. She believed animal assisted therapy if done correctly was one of the best types of therapy for everyone around the world. Animals didn’t judge anyone- therefore there wasn’t any friction or many ‘trust issues’ involved. It really did help speed up the process in her mind. However the fact of the matter is- while she could write this paper herself- she needed to find herself a partner. That being said, as she thought this over and she was almost spooked out of her skin when someone spoke beside her. She thankfully didn’t jump and moved to look at him. She recognized the face- Grayson if she remembered right. Very popular and extroverted. She was a bit surprised he decided to ask her of all people – since she had automatically ruled him out due to his popularity and the idea he would have already had a partner. Chiaki wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth and held out her hand amicably. “I would love to. Thanks for asking.” She smiled, closing her eyes and tilting her head slightly in a gesture of friendliness- something she had adapted many years ago. “Grayson right?” She question to reinforce the memory of the man she was going to be working with occasionally for this project. Hopefully he didn’t interject for her having previous knowledge of the subject. Tag:@ Grayson Walker

While his partner might have known plenty about Animal Assisted Therapy, or whatever, Grayson had no idea what it was. Well, that was a lie. He got the general idea of it. Animals helped people with mental disorders, or whatever. Personally, the raven-haired male hated animals in every shape and form. Dogs were obnoxious and messy, cats licked themselves disgustingly, birds stank, he could really go on forever about it. Not that he would. Most people liked animals for whatever reason, so he kept his hatred of them to himself.
As the girl turned to look at him, she would find nothing but a warm smile on his features. Her agreement, her words, the smile, they were all he needed to see to know she was fine with being his partner. He hadn’t expected her to say ‘no’ in any case, but the fact that she seemed pleased with it was even better. His fingers slid easily into her hand, his skin holding an odd, not quite warm, not quite cool temperature due to his power. A customary shake was given before he pulled back once again. “Of course~” he answered with ease as he slipped into the chair in front of her. He turned backwards in it to face her.
“And yes, though most people call me Gray~” He went on to answer her question. He didn’t both with questioning her name, he already knew and he figured that was obvious since he’d approached her in the first place. Black painted fingernails rose to flick equally dark hair from his eyes as he settled in. “So, what do you know about this?” He questioned after a moment.
