The question earned a simple nod of purple hair. “Why not?” Jack asked simply, a wry grin capturing his features again. “The next round’ll be coming before you know it,” he assured. Before he could say much more, however, the shriek echoed in Jack’s ears. Alarm bells went off in his inner world, and purple eyes swiped sideways seeking out whatever challenge had appeared. Black fur rushed up to the booth, and the muscles in his arm rippled threateningly. Had not the creature continued on its way and bounced up to Riley, Jack surely would have made a swipe at it or two. Those muscles relaxed instantly, however as the threat disappeared, and if the brown haired young woman glanced back at him again, her purple haired counterpart would show no signs of aggression that had engrossed him before.
Watching as the familiar rubbed up against its owner and produced the ring, Jack was innately aware Riley hadn’t lost the ring. Not just money eh? Jack smirked. Cash could be replaced rather easily. Rings and gems were a bit harder to come by. That was why, after all, the exchange rate between the two was what it was, wasn’t it? As the ring was held out to him, he shifted a little in posture to gaze at it carefully. “Better get those gems checked,” was all he spoke before sitting back with a grin. What could he say? He had an eye for what was what on numerous things, heh.
Watching as another card was selected this time by the familiar, Jack grinned. Raising a hand over the pile, he allowed his fingers to twitch above the down faced cards before dropping to select one. Flipping it over, he glanced up meeting the Ace of Spades. A humorless smirk set across Jack’s features. “Black Jack,” he murmured his chosen namesake softly. Glancing up to Riley, Jack continued louder. “Get to choose whether it’s higher than a king or lower than a two, huh?” he asked a cheeky sort of expression coming to his features. “Think I’ll go with the higher than kings this round,” he said loudly suddenly standing up on the booth. A dramatic bow was taken before Jack fished up his drink and took a swing. “Cause why the hell not?” he laughed briefly before both knees caved and he dropped into a sitting position once more.

The aggression that her counterpart had momentarily felt would be missed both by her and Bandit. For surely if the little black canine had noticed, he would be snarling at the purplette rather than considering him curiously. Bandit, like most animals, had a sixth sense when it came to people, and he would likely know before Riley if Jack was dangerous, but he seemed relaxed now, which caused her to relax as well. The brunette only fully trusted one other being, and it was currently sitting in her lap. She and Bandit had a bond, after all. He could always find her, and she could always trust him. He had her best interests at heart, and she would kill 99% of other people over him. She didn’t know if familiars could die forever, but she wouldn’t take the chance.
As he spoke about the gems on the ring, she twirled it around on her finger and took a closer look at it. Truthfully, she didn’t know the value of the gems just from looking at them, which was why she tended to take things to several different people to see what they were worth. In the end, she knew she might get ripped off, but there was nothing she could do about it. Of course, if she found out the person might find their shop burned to the ground, but that was their own fault. Riley took her money seriously. Too seriously. “Ya know anyone credible?” She questioned.
She smirked a bit as that ace was flipped over. Well, it would seem that neither of them had considered aces when she chose the rules. Really, she didn’t want to buy another round, and she was fully prepared to argue with him about it, but that would turn out to be unnecessary. The man quickly decided it was higher, hopping up on the table and taking a bow. She threw her head back and laughed while Bandit placed his forepaws on the table and yapped playfully at the purplette. As he dropped back into his seat, she kicked one of his feet under the table. “You’re too kind, Jackieeee.” She sang out, turning her drink up and downing the rest of it. She smacked her lips thereafter. “Think I want a…. kamikaze this time.” She smirked bigger, pushing her hair back out of her face.

A wry grin flashed across Jack’s features as Riley questioned if he knew anyone credible in judging ring quality. A hand was raised at an angle to his chest before he closed the fingers and thrust his thumb at his chest. “Me, myself, and I are all pretty good,” he laughed out a reply with ease. “We’ve all got a pretty good eye,” he grinned. “But if want the special jewelry grade people,” Jack stopped talking to raise both arms and preform a wave from the tip of one finger across his shoulder and to the tips of the other and back again. With the finishing flick of wrist, a phone appeared in Jack’s hand almost from ‘nowhere’. “I know a couple people.” he finished holding the phone to his ear briefly and setting his free hand on his hip exaggerating a stereotypical call girl gesture.
The game would continue, however, and Jack would concede defeat despite possibly having the winning card. It was no problem for him to ‘lose’ really, and he enjoyed the ‘game’ more when it was a ‘decent fight’. Then again, no fight against Jack Spade was a ‘decent’ one. He was more than deceptive and more than cruel. He only sometimes played by his own books and his own rules, and holding him to anything was difficult. That was just the type of person he was. As Riley laughed and the fox yapped, Jack grinned wide before dropping down again. A sharp laugh escaped from him at the kick but he made no more note of it before clasping his drink and downing it readily as well. The words that came after had him grinning again. “Kamikaze eh?” he grinned wide, the grin consuming much more of his face than what should have been natural. “Guess I’ll follow you.” he replied springing up nimbly onto the seat, giving a minor twirl, and skipping off of it and off towards the bar.
He ordered up the drinks, paid with ease, and waited. Turning back to Riley every once in a while, he elicited several dramatic gestures including long bows, exaggerated mime poses, and the like that earned a nervous laugh or two from people across the room. As the drinks were made up, he would take them and fluidly skip back. Not a single drop of the liquid was spilt as he closed the distance and set the drinks down with ease. Hopping up into his seat again, he leaned back, stretching wildly before leaning forwards again and taking up his own drink. “What should we toast to?” he asked warmly.

Jack was…. something. It didn’t take any sort of genius to realize that he wasn’t exactly a normal person in terms of energy. Those over exaggerated gestures only caused the girl to laugh, however. It was nothing dangerous, as far as she was concerned, to hang out with someone who had a lot of energy. Even if she was left wondering exactly where he got all of his energy from. Blue eyes flashed to the phone as it ‘appeared’ in his hand, and she grinned widely. “I think I can take your word for it~” She said easily, grinning once again as her heavy hair was flicked off of her shoulder. She would likely take it to a couple of other people to see if what he told her was accurate, but that was just Riley for you. Careful in some things, flippant and dangerous in others – and it was impossible to tell how she would react in any given situation. It was possible that if Jack had met her on a different night, she wouldn’t have given him the time of day. Her thought processes were typically sound, but her actions were unpredictable at best – or so she thought.
The issue of whether or not she would follow him to the bar to get her drink was resolved quickly enough as he stated that he would follow her. Bandit, seemingly understanding Jack’s words, had already hopped to the floor and was watching the purplette closely, though curiously. There was no malice in the fox’s eyes, he simply didn’t know what to make of him. Much like Riley. She rose fluidly, snickering as Jack twirled. Steps were taken after the man, hips swaying in the way that they always did when she walked. Well, Riley liked attention. So obviously she would walk in a way that earned her some.
The brunette snickered at her counterpart as he seemingly ‘entertained’ her while they were waiting for their drinks. Equally ridiculous faces were made back at him as her head spun just slightly. She could already feel the alcohol. Despite the fact that she drank quite often, Riley was a lightweight. She wasn’t exactly tiny, being close to average in height and weight, so why it hit her so hard was a mystery. Either way, the drinks were watched closely as Jack skipped back to the table. Of course she hadn’t paid for them, but she didn’t want to see them spilled. She flopped down in her seat, hands curling around her drink as she thought of his question. “Money.” She decided, her grin turning darker for the briefest of seconds. “Cause nothin’s more important.” Her tongue was stuck out for a second before she held her drink up in a toast.
