There were few things in this world Deonte took time and effort to care about in any reasonable form or fashion, and to those who knew him, the largest and most important of these things happened to be in the form of gold and silver. Money was, and would always be, a large part of who he was, and one’s status with money often defined how he acted around others— sometimes, anyways. His flippant ways bestowed Deon the power to not be a robot, but one could question whether this was actually a good thing or not for quite some time. That afternoon, however, he was pretty consistent in his flat interest as he roamed the streets apparently aimlessly to those who knew no better.
Akin to a broom, his single visible honey colored eye swept the street glazing over buildings and into windows as he passed them, yet no interest held his gaze as he passed. Same ol’ same ol’, eh? He had figured as much considering it was a main street, and those who lived on such avenues had learned better than to boast items of interest in their windows. Ever still, the thief could not help but hope for a bone or two to be thrown his way. There was obviously more on the main street stores than houses normally had, so why not? Wasn’t that god or whatever it was, Chaos or somethin’, supposed to help a fella out? Deonte snorted almost amused at the prospect of being helped by such an ethereal being. He’d never relied on anyone else before, so why start now? That was the question of the hour now wasn’t it? A small laugh escaped from Deonte before an easy smirk settled on his features.
Nah, he relied on one person and one person only.
Guess that takes me off main street A snort escaped into the air before the young man turned and started down a street junction drawing across the pavement at his general smooth pace. Despite the intimidation factor his eye patch presented, the sharpness of his clothes and the ease in his step could just as easily swept away the worries of those around Deon. He had to have had some form of money to have those clothes, right? And thugs didn’t walk with such ease, or something like that? Something like that had to have been assumed considering fewer cops stopped him when in such attire than when he wore ‘street clothes’, after all. It mattered little to Deonte whatever assumption was made as long as it kept them off his back.
As he made yet another turn down a smaller street, Deon smirked softly to himself. Bingo. It was almost funny how people just a few blocks away could feel one hell of a lot safer, somehow, and the joke would certainly be on them should his eye catch something of interest. Flashing across a number of windows, he stopped to squint at one in particular. Eh? The hell is that? Fluid in motion, Deon drew up to the window, his golden eye reflecting a large painting in one of the front rooms. It was huge and intricate, and that was enough for Deon. That has ta be worth somethin’. If nothing else, he bet he could get a decent price from a pawn shop, and that was all the excuse Deon needed.
Fishing out what on first glance appeared to be a somewhat large wallet, the young man would open it to reveal a series of lock picking and window entrance tools at his disposal, and as he raised a choice window lock pick, a devious expression would flash across his features. ‘Ello darlin’ . Inserting the pick through the bottom of the window and prodding the lock open easily, Deon snagged the frame and forced it open before easily climbing inside.
Before leather boots would hit the tiled flooring, a free hand would raise and peal back the black eye patch. For but a moment, the insignia of a golden pyramid pyramid, the all seeing eye, would reveal itself before the eye underneath it opened, and in a blinking second, invisibility cloaked the thief. Fifteen minutes, he had fifteen minutes to snag the piece and get out of there. Got plenty ‘f time…
What he’d forgotten, however, was just how large the picture was. Now how the hell am I going to…. An invisible frown would persist before Deon slipped through the room. He’d figure it out when he got there or something.
Which really didn’t take that long considering with his long legs (in proportion to his body), he’d closed the distance pretty quick. Drawing up to the picture, he gave it a few glances over before shrugging invisible shoulders, reaching up on the wooden part of it, and making to lift it. Yeah it was bulky, but at least it wasn’t too heavy… Hopefully he could get it through the window. Eh, I’ll figure it out… he mentally reassured himself before starting towards said window.

Belldandy would like to say she actually did try. She did try very hard to get to where she was today- and she wasn’t going to blow it on punching some jerk in the face. The blue haired harpy continued to repeat this fact to herself while she fumed in the upstairs lounge for the ‘artists’. She mentally mocked the word with a French accent because that was what she found the most irritating and obnoxious at the time. Just because she was a artist didn’t mean guys could just go around and roll over and think they had it made. She might not be making a lot of money but she certainly wasn’t their eye candy or bed warmer. She hissed to herself as she gripped the water bottle a little tighter. The art show closed- and she just had to wait a little longer to leave. Then she was out with her art. She had to do this as part of her grade. She desperately wanted her grades to be high enough so she could graduate. Art was something she loved- and though nothing worthwhile- she would at least have marketable skills. It was something she could at least have in her future. She would kick down everyone who said she couldn’t make it because the blue haired woman knew it. Her mother- her grandmother- they were useless. She was her own person and she would demand that the walkway to a good life was paved in front of her and she wasn’t going to be told ‘no’. She wasn’t going to be told ‘no’ for any reason. She was female, she was a criminal, but like heck, she was the best person around. Her pink eyes glared to the ceiling as she held back the cry of victory. There was no victory- she just liked to pep herself up for the sake of it. Never knew when you were going to need it after all. Resting her back against the couch she lazily put her forearm over her eyes as she sighed. The windows in the modern building did nothing to extinguish the sun shining obnoxiously. Her form was one of tired- but not tense. Bella didn’t feel tense simply because there was no reason to be. The shop was closed with its event and most people went home. The few that were around were probably in the back slacking off or something. The tattoo artist didn’t really hear anything out of the ordinary. Maybe she could get that really big piece back into her van. She grimaced as she forced herself up to stand- holding her bottle of the water around the cap- her fingers only clutching it barely. The artist ran her fingers through her bangs as she let out a small sigh. It didn’t echo in the thankfully rather creepy and rather empty art exhibit. She didn’t want to deal with paranoid fears of someone watching her. Not like a bringer was just going to show up and go ‘boo’ for the sake of it. Screw if she actually honest believed in them or not- invisible things were just terrifying. Trekking down the stairs- she turned the corner. Her pink eyes glanced up slowly as she mentally processed the scene in front of her. Her picture…seemed to be floating? It took several blinks before she realized it was moving. It took another second before she realized that a ghost- or something invisible was trying to take her art. Being the ever logical creature she was she reared back and sent her water bottle flying at the direction of the ‘invisible’ thing before a shriek of anger left her pale lips. Hands clenched and she hissed with pure rage. Seething she threw her arm up and then to the side. “If you don’t put that back- I’m going to murder your dead ass!” Siren screamed- coming to the perfectly logical conclusion that ghosts were trying to rob her. “You hear me ghost!? I’m going to beat you up! Come on!” With that- she rushed in- her thin arms swinging and her roaring. Tag:@ Deonte DeSoto

The subtle clunk of shoes down stairs reverberated in Deonte’s ears causing the thief to freeze in mid-step before an invisible head turned to set hidden eyes upon the creator coming down the stairs. Shit echoed mentally in Deonte’s mind for a moment as he attempted to speed his step towards the window. It would not be enough, however, as a water bottle projectile collided with his shoulder and burst, spraying his unseen form with a thin coat of water. To an observer, the outline of half a male figure was now visible from the waterline, and the blue haired woman had a briefly visible target.
Damn ya pterodactyl was the mental comment that cascaded through Deonte’s mind before his ears caught the audible threat thereafter. SHIT he mentally rolled over again rather quickly dropping the painting in order to avoid the swinging arms of the young woman coming at him way too quickly. The crunch sound of wood on flooring would mask the slippery sounds of shoes grazing the surface in quick side steps thereafter. Grabbing his invisible jacket, the thing that was now soaked and revealing him, Deon shed it to the floor causing it to once more appear now that it was a part of him.
The more standard thief would have fled using the open window and the lack of restriction to get away. Deonte, however, was not the standard thief. Once he had set his eyes upon something, he seldom let it go so easily, and instead, he found himself rather quickly stepping around attempting to get behind this strange young woman. Despite now being completely visually hidden again, however, the sounds of his feet were indeed present as he drew closer.

She did in fact see the half outline of the human being in front of her. The problem was, Bella honestly could care less if it was a person or a ghost. She was going to beat it up. Her twin braids were flying behind her as she practically threw herself forward. She didn’t hit anything- but to her credit, Belldandy wasn’t exactly expecting to. Her shoes screeched on the tile as she skid to a stop as she caught the telltale outline once more. “Oh no you don’t, you son of a whore.” She hissed, her pink eyes flaring with rage. The problem with what the robber would so find out, was Bella was hardly the average woman that cops would tell to sit down and just ‘go with what the robber says’ and you won’t get hurt. She would beat them into a pulp! She heard the frame crack against the ground- but she wasn’t worried. The frame was crap- but the picture was sturdier than that. There was a roar as she threw herself at the now appearing coat as it was dropped. Without that outline- she was a bit lost…but that didn’t matter that much to her. With a shriek she did hear the squeak of the ghost – or person at this point’s shoes. With a hiss- she turned, backing up two steps before coming to the quick but smart conclusion that the person was using their insignia. Fine- she would just use hers! Sliding her left arm over and dragging her fingers to her right wrist- she pulled her hand with a flourish to grab the paintbrush that was her actual insignia. With that, she swiped the air- a pink line of paint soaring forward. Bella’s idea was simple. Drown the son of a gun in paint. The criminal female was not exactly expecting it to actually work but she wasn’t really thinking that far ahead in the first place. She was a mama bear and that painting was her cub and she would cut this ghost-person if they thought they could get their hands on it! “This is my painting- and if you dare try to take it, I’ll eat your heart!” She really wouldn’t- but with that twinge of rage and borderline insanity in her voice, one would not try to tempt her if they were smart. Son of a – that bitch didn’t have the right to say that! –even if it was true! Deonte grit his invisible teeth. For as much as he wanted to shout something back, he wouldn’t- for now, anyways. Despite being impulsive, Deonte wasn’t a (completely) illogical thief. It was always better to hide than reveal oneself, and just as much, it was always better to remain quiet than depict one’s location by making unnecessary noise- even if he wanted to say some things, a lot of things, a hella ton of things.
Deonte didn’t have time to think further, however, as the roar echoed in his ears and he quickly stepped out of the way of the carnivorous blue braided not-a-hedge-hog just narrowly escaping being tackled. A small grimace came to his features when the young woman landed on his coat, however, and he fought the urge to complain about how expensive it was. Dry cleaners; he’d need to head to the dry cleaners later. The shriek and hiss cut these thoughts however, and Deonte was reacting again rather quickly backing up for now least the monkey child jump at him again. Damn it, he needed an opening to get behind her or pin her not get smacked at! – Not that, cough, he was particularly worried about being hit by a girl mind you!
A single golden eye blinked briefly in confusion over the events that would transpire next- that was up until the pink line of paint was suddenly sent cascading in his general direction. Before he could react fast enough, Deonte found a good chunk of himself splattered with paint. Pink paint, oh lovely. He could work pink if he wasn’t now visible because of it. An unintentional growl rippled passed Deonte’s lips as his mind tried to work fast enough on a means of staying invisible. He’d already dropped his coat, but certainly he wouldn’t throw any more clothes down. Perhaps he could force invisibility of even the paint, but that might be too exhausting. The last option was to just fight it out, huh?
Dropping the bulk of his invisibility save for his head and facial area, Deonte then appeared like… a headless body coated in paint. Well if that wasn’t disturbing to someone, his creator couldn’t imagine what was. “Eat your heart out first sweet cheeks,” he snorted briefly before charging at the girl now visibly making to kick at her right side.

Invisible or not, this guy was good at dodging the flailing shrieking pissed off harpy known as Belldandy. In fact- he was so good at it- in the back of her mind she guessed he did hard time because who could really get the moves if she wasn’t even thinking about them! However time and time again she was swiping at thin air- but she at least knew if she kept moving it would be harder to grab her and she could have a little bit more of an advantage. Like hell she was going to take this sitting down. She was going to roar and protect her cub-painting-child and he was going to leave her freaking alone! Her calloused fingers grabbed the paintbrush with dexterity that would surprise some- but when she had done her one stripe of pink paint- her paintbrush disappeared almost in a burst of pink smoke. It wasn’t a fighting ability- so she was a bit screwed on this respect. However thankfully that stupid orb of a familiar didn’t come out and quote her on fighting so terribly. She would just downright throw the orb at this dude’s face! She was under the assumption it was a male- simply because of the size and the jacket- but it could be an ugly as hell woman too. She didn’t judge. Belldandy’s eyes widened as suddenly there was a form without a head- but instead of reacting like a more fragile person she grinned like a carnivorous animal and ducked under his swing as she slammed her fist in the direction of his groin like any smart girl would do. “Like I have one!” She shrieked loudly back at him- not caring who heard- what was going to happen as she launched herself at him once more, nails flashing as she wanted to swipe them down this idiot’s face! What Deonte had been expecting in reaction to almost all of his form rematerializing into view was certainly not what he got. The hungry animal expression on the girl’s face caused invisible teeth to grit in Deonte’s, and briefly he wished he had had the stamina to keep fully invisible. Damn maybe it’s best to high tail it! he considered briefly, but this thought was cut crucially short as fist crashed into that particular sensitive spot. Pupils shrunk, and whatever thoughts he might have had were gone. Ow! Damn! Before he could mentally will himself to remain hidden, Deonte lost control of his power, and abruptly, his entire head appeared atop his shoulders as he caved over.
The shriek in his ears reminded Deon that this was no time to be writhing in pain even if it sure damn felt like it, but as he snapped himself to a full standing position, she was already at him again nails like knives at his face. SHI- An arm raised on instinct to take the bulk of those drawn claws, but even his forearm was left briefly tingling from the scratch. His other hand striking forwards, Deon reached to seize one of the long blue pigtails in an effort to yank it downwards or back depending on how he could grasp it. Well shit this wasn’t going well.

An animals had some type of response when fighting. Belldandy, a creature raised from two different respects however had a mish mash of different ideas and different moves that belonged to no single ‘style’. She was raised on the streets- not the great world of martial arts. Her scratching, biting, cursing, and flailing about like a wild animal was the only skill she had to use. Firearms were her style- but fighting someone twice her body size was not. However if it’s one things animals were, they were unpredictable. As he reached out to grab her hair, she turned to it to grab it and- as any animal would do, sink her teeth in. She didn’t stop there however as she tried to ram her elbow into his stomach- not taking any of what he gave without giving it back tenfold. She bit, she scratched, and she did whatever she could- not stopping for one moment. It was not fear of survival or protection of a child- but one she was much more acquainted with- rage. Rage that some suit wearing ken-doll with invisibility powers walked right into her paws and thought he could escape with her painting. While it was certainly one of her babies- she knew that she could paint another one. She however couldn’t relive the moment where she didn’t try to protect it with her life. Starving artists might had been the worst target for this man- because she sure as hell was going to get a bite out of him. Tag:@ Deonte DeSoto

As those teeth sank into his forearm, Deonte bit his lip to keep himself from screaming. A muffled ‘awkgt’ sound escaped past his teeth. He didn’t rip his arm back immediately but formed the other hand into a fist that aimed to sock her jaw. The girl’s elbow met his stomach thereafter, and had she hit a little higher, he might have been winded by the blow. The fight went on like that, however, blow for blow, and claw for claw.
At one point, a few of Deon’s nails cracked, and that hurt man! But he didn’t stop there; he wasn’t going to lose to this girl! As the minutes dragged on, however, Deonte grew more and more tired. Not only was he sustaining damage, he was using up too much energy in this fight. He’d already spent more than enough in the attempt to keep himself invisible. Now it was coming back to bite him in the ass— less literally than he was sure the girl would do if given the option right then and there. Damn he really needed a gun or something.
Huffing a bit amidst the jabs and return jabs, he was kicked too hard in the knee to keep standing and ended up topping down in both knees. “Damn ya imp,” he sneered glancing up at her and raising an arm to defend whatever blow came next. He wasn’t all the way down yet and didn’t think she would stop now anyways.

Her teeth met clothed skin but she bit down as hard as she could before she was punched away. Blue hair splayed- as one of her braids came a bit loose but her pink eyes were wild with rage. This walking silver haired freak touched one of her things and thought he could just get away scot free?! The idea was laughable. Bella was not one to sink her teeth in and not fight with the fury of brimstone and hellfire. “You better get out of here if you don’t want your behind kicked!” Unlike Deonte, she was not nearly as winded as he was. She was scrawny and didn’t waste her energy on too much of her power. Her power was mostly useless, though great for tagging. She knew that so she rarely used it out in the open. The ‘harpy’ really didn’t care what was going to happen outside of the store- heck, someone could have been watching and commentating the fight- her tunnel vision was focused on him. No matter how hard she was hit- she felt glee as she saw him on his knees. She shrieked in some incomprehensible statement and felt the adrenaline pump higher and faster as she threw herself at him and started to claw at his face with renewed vigor- trying to bite him once again. “You’ll regret even messing with me you idiot!” It sounded practically feral- but the blue haired woman wasn’t going to be taken lightly and her instincts were telling her to claw- punch- scratch- and bite her attacker. She probably would go so far to murder someone- if they kept fighting but hopefully for all parties involved, it would not. Tag:@ Deonte DeSoto

Short breaths escaped from clenched teeth as Deonte glared with his single gold eye. For as cool and confident as he thought himself to be, this was not one of his more glamorous moments. It sucked. The theft was a mess, and this girl was crazy. Why couldn’t she just be some normal easy to scare chick? Fuck his luck. Just fuck it. The young woman’s sharp words, the order to get out of here, would have gone ignored under other circumstances. Deonte was not one to back down or out. Once he was in, he was in. However, in this clearly specific situation, was he actually considering running? Fuckin’ ‘p against a little witch and … The colorful swearwords that ran through the silver haired man’s mind were arguably too much for his writer to deal with. One can be assured, however, he didn’t like her.
The shriek earned a harsh grimace, and Deonte didn’t have time to think more. As the body collided with his, a sharp swear escaped from him. Her words echoed in his ears, but Deonte didn’t ‘hear’ them. No, he was focused on the fight. Deonte reacted differently this time, however. Rather than return blows, he aimed to seize her wrists trying to rip them away from their desired destination. Though he was the more exhausted of the pair, Deonte still wasn’t willingly going to be torn apart. He was the man, caught with his hand in the nest, seizing at the bird’s claws to keep from being cut up anymore. As she went to bite him once again, Deonte leaned his head back as far as he could before trying to slam it right into the blue haired woman’s. It was going to hurt like hell, Deonte knew, but he was aiming to knock her out.
