Spencer squinted at the idea of ‘group projects’. If he was a less and loose teenager- he would stand on his desk and claim he was the president and say screw the government and run out of the classroom- but he did not. A detective didn’t handle himself like that- Spencer quoted mentally. Almost dreading the subject- he prayed that both him and a ‘partner’ would be easily cowed into doing what he wanted- because honestly screw what they wanted.
English. A paper. Simple enough. Unless his partner was some horrible dual-speaker. The subject was picking a book and talking about its setting. It didn’t seem too hard- he guessed. Of course as he said that- he found himself definitely praying it was a good book and they could both agree on. Like…a detective book or something. Or heck, at least a movie that wasn’t a terrible Disney rip off of actual fairy tales.
When he heard his randomly assigned partner named- he almost cringed. Almost. Jacqueline – which was the weirdest way to spell a name in the first place, bloody French people – was known to be outspoken and bossy. To be honest, the only thing he really did know about the Rosstillo family was they bred like rabbits and had fifty children. Hopefully she would let him take the lead on the paper.
When the class was allowed to disperse- and talk to their partners- he quickly grabbed up his bag and walked over to the brunette girl and offered his hand out with a hopefully charming smile. “Hey, guess we’re partners!” To Spencer’s credit, he was actively trying to be nice- even if his reputation for being a detective hell-hound proceeded him. He could only try to be nice and see where it got him. "Dunno if you know me- but I'm Spencer. Nice to meet you Jacqueline."
