Some may call this being optimistic, yet, he doesn't see it like that. He sees it as him being himself, and trying to suck every bit of fun he can get from every situation. 'Live in moment no matter what' is his life motto. Even if it means danger, Dalton doesn't mind jumping into things for a good time, or to make a horrible day something actually enjoyable. This makes the male anything but lazy, considering how he's always found jumping around, being loud, or exploring some where new so that he can find a new view to save in his memory. So yes, he's a thrill seeker at times, or he's just an adventurous person. It's really what day you catch him that determines the amount of excitement he seeks. However, Dalton prefers hanging around his friends over anything else. Even when comparing a day with a friend over sky diving-- something the guy always wanted to do -- he would gladly choose hanging out with a friend, since the memories he haves with them are usually priceless. Bad or good, it doesn't matter with him. As long as a memory was made, the guy is happy, but that doesn't mean he wants purely bad memories. It's the bad memories that remind him of his mess ups in the past, yet it's the good memories that keep him strong, and remind him to always stay loyal to his friends so that those good memories can continue to happen. And, lucky for him, Dalton can easily make friends with most people. Maybe it's because of his charismatic charm, or maybe it's because he's always known for being quite the amiable guy. Regardless, these are gifts that always bring him joy whenever he's depressed or scared-- which is rare. Even when facing the bubbling feeling of fear that one would get whenever knowing they were going to get in trouble, or something is going wrong; the guy can stay cool and continue to smile if those happy thoughts of his luck and his memories of his past don't leave his mind. Some may envy this plucky trait of his, and they have every right to. It IS something people wish they could have, especially when you're a troublemaker like him. ~*~* Negatives Now that his pluses are revealed, let's get into detail about his shiny minuses. Yes, as hard as it can be for some to believe, he has his flaws like everyone else. Some which are created because of his strong positive traits, while others were developed on their own. Nonetheless, they're all there and stronger than ever. One weak point that Dalton grows to hate at times is his reckless behavior. It's something that naturally comes to him whenever he's searching for that satisfaction of feeling a rush of adrenaline from anything exciting. It's sucks, but Dalton is just not one to think of the consequences of an action before actually committing it. This can lead him, and others around him, in trouble whenever he gets those bright ideas to break the rules in the 'funnest' way possible. And, whenever he does his crazy stunt without getting in trouble or getting hurt, he has the small habit of bragging about it. It's just something he feels the need to do to show his worth to others. Of course he takes it way too far though. It's one thing to talk about it, it's another to consistently talk about how HE did it, and not them. Either way, whenever he acts this boastful towards activities, it never ends well. Now, the outcome of these traits usually end with him in deep trouble, where he should be. Sometimes authorities simply over hear him bragging, while other times he annoys someone to the point where they would go out of their way to tell it to authorities. This has became common enough that Dalton actually can tell if the person who's yelling at him got the information from a another person or not-- just by listening to their tone and the way they word everything they say to him. And, of course, whenever it's another person who rats him out, Dalton is never too pleased. It actually makes him quite mad, considering how he believes they should mind their own damn business, or at least to stay out of his way when he's trying to have fun. So, as pay back he would either prank them, humiliate them in public, attempt to beat them up, or all three. You see, Dalton merely displays his usual amiable behavior to others, but when he's mad, well, that friendliness can go away real quick. Call it being vengeful if you will, but either way it's the truth behind the guy. However, before he can take his revenge, the guy has to get out of trouble. This usually is a 50/50 chance, considering the many variables along with it, but the biggest factor is the way Dalton decides to lie. Over the years he has gotten quite good at lying, so even that isn't too scary of a thought. Yet, despite the often occurrences where he had to act dishonest to get information he wants, to get out of trouble, or to get his friend out of trouble, Dalton still doesn't appear to be the type to lie. But he is. He is probably one of the biggest liars one may ever meet-- lying about how big his stunts were, what he was doing during the time a prank probably occurred, or basically anything. And, if that fails, he tends to flirt his ass off. Girl or not, he'll flirt on anyone he finds attractive, or anyone he needs to fool. Sometimes it gets in the way of his pranks, say, if he finds a pretty girl while trying to set up an amazing prank, and other times it does nothing less than help the prank. Hell, he would sometimes convince the person to do what he wants through a combination of intense flirting and lying. Yes, he's a flirtatious genius at times, yet during other times he may fail at it and end up looking like a complete fool. History Born into the well known and respected Mcknight family, the standers for Dalton were always high. No matter what he did, unless it was perfect, it wasn't good enough for his parents. He is a Mcknight after all, and Mcknights are ALWAYS perfect. And, because of his lack of perfection, the boy was stuck living in the damned mansion of his parents for years. Until he was to their likings, they said, he wouldn't be allowed to come out. At first it wasn't too bad, mostly because he was about 5 when this began to occur, so he didn't notice the differences between outside and not. He missed his friends, sure, but he was still accompanied by his imaginary friends-- James and Eric-- so even tasks such as washing the dishes were still fun for him. At this age he would spend hours upon hours riding his bike indoors, going back and forth until his butlers insisted he stopped before the 'madam and master' came home. That would usually never stop him, but when it did, Dalton would simply move on to the next activity to occupy his mind-- drawing. Bugs, people, animals; he would draw them all in his free time, hoping they would become real. Yes, even if he didn't acknowledge it in his younger years, the boy was certainly lonely to the point where he would wish that he could summon whatever drawling he made, and make that creature real. That saddest part, however, was the fact that the first time he told his parents that he was lonely, they did the worst thing possible. They gave him endless amounts of work to do. "It would speed up the process of perfection" Julina Mcknight simply stated as her reasoning to putting her child through hours and hours of mental labor. She even ended up taking away more and more of his break time, replacing with more study sessions with countless world class teachers. By the age of 7, he was smart enough to be in the 5th grade. Actually, at this rate he would've been able to pass 12th grade MUCH faster than a normal person could, but as the work became more and more overwhelming, Dalton began to refuse to do anything. He was growing to despise every moment of having to sit down and do a math problem. It was stupid! Worthless! Why couldn't he finally be rewarded for his years of work?! Of course these thoughts were beginning to erupt in his mind, yet he knew of his lack of ability to do anything but comply to his parent's orders. If he didn't, he wouldn't be able to ever feel the warmth of the sun he always peeks at during his small breaks inbetween lessons. Yet, at the age of 10, this small voice telling him it's no use faded away. After those 5 years of pain and suffering, he was done working until he felt like a pile of mush. He wanted to go outside. To run. To play. It was something he longed for every day of his life, and it was something he was going to get no matter what. So, with a chest full of pride, he went up to his parents and demanded to leave. He demanded to go outside and play-- to go to a public school as well. Their reaction was pure laughter, but that quickly changed after Dalton threatened to go to the press the day he leaves the household. 'Child locked up until adult hood' wouldn't be a good thing for such respected figures. It was then they reluctantly agreed to allow Dalton enter a public school AND be allowed to relish in the beauty that was the outside world. At first the whole experience of seeing new faces and hearing the voices of unfamiliar people was, well, overwhelming, yet he grew to love it. The ability to meet another human being was nothing less than amazing to him, and something he cherished greatly. Actually, because of the long period of time he was stuck in that stuffy mansion, he slowly learned to cherish every memory of happiness he obtained through his school years. Every friend he gained was cherish with such high levels of loyalty, and over all, he gained a liking towards looking for  the brighter sides to things. Even if he had to dig deep for it. And at first these traits did nothing less than allow him to gain large amounts of friends, but as he reached middle school, these large amounts of friends disappeared quite quickly. They all found Dalton to be...nerdy. His knowledge of everything was overwhelming to them, and they grew to hate it. How could he know everything?! Soon enough they resorted to simply classifying him as a nerd to satisfy their questioning of his knowledge. However, one crowd still accepted him. The so called 'stoners'. That group of middle schoolers didn't care if he knew every secret of the world-- they accepted him with open arms. And, like they did for all new members of the group, they showed him the wonderful world of drugs. Cigarettes. At first it was all so scary for Dalton. He was always told to avoid such things, yet, being presented with the actual thing pushed him towards wanting to give it a go. Especially since he thought saying no would make those kids abandoned him too. "It won't hurt to just try it....right?" Yet that first dip into the water was enough to get him hook on those countless drugs they would obtain, and for him to find a lingering love for cigarettes. After that faithful day in the 7th grade, Dalton would go to the back of the school with those same few just to smoke a cigarette or to smoke some weed. It was stupid, yes, yet he still did it. No matter how hard he tried, the male was forever in love with these lung killing sticks, and refused to go without one for 12 hours. This didn't effect his high grades too much, at first, but after reaching the 9th grade, his As dropped down to Bs, then Cs, and then they were merely low Cs and high Ds, with the occasional B. He would even even skip classes just to smoke a cigarette. It's was horrible, and Dalton knew it. He knew how much these drugs were poisoning. It was't like he was oblivious to these facts or anything, he would actually remind himself countless times. Everyday he would remind himself, every afternoon he would remind himself, and every night he would remind himself-- the reminders were never ending. Though, despite how consist they were, they never completed the task. Not once did those silly reminders prevent a stick from toxicating his mouth, nor did it block any sort of vulgar words from spewing out of his mouth. And the funny part is this; he didn't even like the drugs and cigarettes anymore. As reckless as the guy was, he was no air head-- he knew of the thousands of effects those drugs and cigarettes could do to him, and that certainly made them distasteful. But even then, Dalton continued, and continued, and continued. No matter how distasteful they were and no matter how much he wanted to stop, he simply knew he couldn't. If he did, his friend would leave him. Everyone who he's come to know would leave in a second, and that would make all alone...again. In his mind it was better to die from some horrid after effect than to be suffocated by loneliness. That was his philosophy, well, until he came anyway. Like a whirlwind, the impact of this man was sudden. Life changing. No one expected him to come, and no one was expected his departure. Who was this man, you may ask? To put it to simple terms, he was the person Dalton didn't even know existed; the man was his cousin. Yes, the great man that changed Dalton's life was his cousin, Devin.  Dalton and his cousin, before that point in time, never spoke. The closest Dalton ever gotten to his cousin was through dreams; his mother would always tell stories of his wonderful cousin, so obviously the small, ignorant child had countless dreams concerning this heroic cousin of his. Each story he heard was simply so exciting for the young boy-- each concerned the cousin, who had the occupation of a detective, and how he solves usually cases. Most of the murder stories and kidnap stories were made up, but some led to be true-- something Dalton finds out after meeting his cousin the day he decided to visit the great Mcknight mansion. Upon meeting Devin, Dalton didn't think much of him; he was simply some goodie too shoes his mother used to talk about, hoping her own son would achieve that level of honesty one day. However, throughout his stay, the two grew extremely close. For some reason the boy could actually open up to his cousin and talk about his struggles, and even ask for a solution. And, unlike his parents, the cousin would action listen. Respond. Reassure. For the first time in a long while he was able to let everything go. It took quite a bit of counseling from the cousin, but over the course of a year, Devin was able to leave the biggest impact on Dalton's life. For once Dalton, with full confidence, was able to make a decision that would benefit his overall life; the choice was to join the police force. It took a few weeks to come to this conclusion, but once the thought was in his head, the male couldn't forget it. He wanted to achieve it. He wanted to become the cop, no, detective that he would never dream to be a few years back. It won't easy-- that's one thing he was certain about throughout his training. But, each day he would wake up with a smile, knowing that he would actually be doing more good than bad.  And, like that, he began to become the perfect image of a changed man. None of his thoughts were ever polluted by harmful substances, but of course he was still human throughout this stage of his life. Dalton was still reckless, he was still dishonest. Of course these were things he began to try and improve, though most attempts to fix these kinks would never fall through. His childish qualities, even at his current age of 21, would never fail to shine through the small cracks of his new lawful shell. This was shown to be especially be true once the madness of the whole "factions" thing came to be. Dalton, like a child, was oblivious as to the true meaning of it all. His mind could not comprehend the horror of it all and chose to look at it's good points; it's a game. A game he'll win! So with this intent to win, his wish was to be granted a small gift-- a set of duel pistols that have an unlimited amount of bullets. Insignia Level 1 What is your character's insignia? The mark is what looks like a scar right above their eye- and the user must touch the scar to activate the ability. or "Companion" - Level 1- It gives the character the ability to summon a companion for fifteen minutes. The user can interact with this companion as if they were real. If used too long or stressed the companion becomes mentally unstable and reflects the stresses of the user's mind. The mark is on their hand looks like a triangle tattoo on the back of their hand. Remember to include the passive! The passive could be something like a companion that is not able to access the insignia abilities- or just a simple orb that is designed to be a foil or annoyance to your character.
