- The girl is pretty down to earth all things considered. She follows rules and laws but is also free spirited enough to walk a path that she can claim is her own.
History
Born second oldest to a growing wealthy French family, Vivien was a strong child even in her earliest days. Physical in all her ways, she was running before she was walking before she was crawling and running shortly after that. She seemed to have a natural energy that could scarcely be held back, and wearing her out fell on her father’s shoulders. She loved all manner of sports and play but couldn’t seem to sit still long enough to be a ‘princess in distress’ like her sisters after her. She wanted to play the night in shining armor rescuing herself, and to his credit, her father accepted and respected her personality. He was a kind man, and she adored him for it- even if his attention was divided due to their constantly growing family.
Her relationship with her eldest brother was rather close due to their standing in age, but whereas Alex was always the quieter of the pair, Vivien was always the more boisterous, more adventurous, more everything, really. She held nothing back in the way of talk and was one to vocalize what she was thinking even in less than socially acceptable places. Her interest in nature was evident early on if only in the way of her constantly challenging it. She was almost five when she broke her arm attempting to climb a tree in the back yard. Her parents kept a much better eye on her after the incident, especially her father who repeatedly kicked himself for being distracted with her siblings and letting her out of his sight for even a moment. It made her strangely proud, however, to be the only child in elementary school with a cast.
Unlike her sibling before her, Vivien made school friends easily. Her outgoing, passionate, and excitable demeanor made her a peer favorite even if perhaps she was a bit too loud for her teachers. It would be in the first few years, however, that it would become evident that just as naturally as she climbed the trees, she naturally struggled in school. Her parents were told she might have ADHD or something similar, but after numerous doctors’ contradicting opinions and the like, her parents decided to attempt smaller class sizes rather than medication. She was placed in a smaller school, and indeed she did much better than before- even if it arguably took longer. She still kept a good bulk of her friends from ‘regular’ school, however, and was always the social one asking to go out and the like. It seemed almost daily that she was out doing something with someone.
While pageants were becoming an increasingly popular family affair, Vivien disliked them. She felt scared and uncomfortable up there on stage in a dress, and after a few tries, her mother let her simply watch and tried to cater better to her desires. She was exposed to numerous arts, sports, and the like, but what she found a passion for came in the form of Savate. Her parents were willing to let her practice it only after considerable research that showed it was safer than most sports in terms of injury. She enjoyed it tremendously, and training became her outlet early after this. Her parents noticed a minor improvement in her grades during this time, though they were never as outstanding as any of her siblings’.
Throughout her early years, Vivien was mostly friends with boys, but this would shift about as she transitioned from elementary to middle school. Early on, she never kissed or married on the playground but preferred to be ‘one of the guys’ when given the option. She was rather rough with a lot of peers, but no one really complained- at least for a while. However, as cooties ran rampant, she was awkwardly ostracized rather critically, and there was a period where she’d come home crying repeatedly because of something a peer said or did. It only took a little for this period to transition into a monster when she took out her anger on others, however. She kicked out several teeth from one of her male peers and was sent to the principal’s office right after. Her parents were…displeased but at the very least willing to hear her side of the story- after they got out of the school. She was forced to apologize, and her parent covered medical bills and such, but after was she taken home and allowed to give her side.
Her father was furious, explaining that physical fighting under any circumstance was intolerable. She retaliated by arguing he was basically her mother’s body guard and had probably got into plenty of fights and therefore had no right to say anything. Her mother argued she change schools or perhaps even be homeschooled: the idea being take her out of the situation completely. This, however, caused Vivien to burst into tears and cry for hours after that. She was so frustrated and angry that they didn’t immediately see her side, and she avoided talking to both of them for almost an entire week. Distressed, her mother sought a therapist whom Vivien began speaking with slowly but surely. She would continue therapy for many years after- less for her own issues but more because she liked the therapist and saw her as a friend, something rare for her at that point in time, ironically enough. With encouragement, Vivien was able to rekindle her relationship with her parents and siblings. Her father would suggest other ways to deal with her anger, but by the time she had resigned to talk to him again, she didn’t need him to say those things.
As middle school started, Vivien joined several school sports teams, anything she could get her hands on, really. She stopped hitting people- without reason and took it out on the field more than anything else. She worked out considerably and had several growth spurts in this time. To those in around her, she appeared tall, powerful even among her teachers who she sized up to rather well. She would not fit in with most girly girls or the guys either, really. However, she found kinship in female athletes whom she would realized were similar to her- and ended up having her first girlfriend by the third year of middle school. To most, they were ‘just friends’, but behind the scenes, at the girls’ home, they were clearly more than that.
This relationship continued into high school, and they were very much sweethearts during this time coming out as girlfriends at the end of their freshman year. However, high school would bring more difficult classes and more social issues. Vivien became more aware of people picking on her elder brother- and took to quietly destroying the bigger bullies. She would never let her parents know, for she had not quite forgotten the disapproval for violence. However, she wasn’t going to tolerate someone messing with her siblings when she could help it either. They were hers. Ever still, she couldn’t protect Alex from everything and grew to understand some things just had to be worked out separately.
While her high school career wasn’t academically impressive, her sports made her popular enough, and she was reasonably well liked even if many still found her somewhat loud. She had a break up with her girlfriend part way into their sophomore year together, but surprisingly enough, it was on good terms. They remained friends and were still rather close socially- just better as friends than girlfriends or so they found. During the summer after her sophomore year, she went rock climbing with a group of her school friends and their parents and grew to love the test of physical strength it put on her. From thereon out, she started camping more, as often as she could, really and with anyone who wanted to go.
Somewhere around this time, her parents surprised her and her siblings with a manor in America. While she didn’t initially understand what the big deal was, as she spent more time over there, Vivien began to like it more and more. There was so much to do in America, and she even applied to Barclay in order to stay there for school once she finished high school in France. She made friends there- American friends that were pretty fun in their own way. She even dated a few guys there though these relationships were short lived at best. More than anything, however, she loved the new terrain, the new sights and sounds.
When she graduated and was indeed accepted into Barclay, Vivien enrolled and began to take classes- while still having quite a lot of fun. Years would pass in the blink of an eye, and she would take up personal training and bouncing for extra independent cash. However, when she and the rest of her family were trapped by the toybox event, Vivien found herself restless and anxious. Approached by a god, she was offered a wish. She hesitated for a moment or two before wishing for an endless supply of chocolate. Now every time she reaches into her pocket, there is a perfect unmelted chocolate bar. Well that was pretty convenient! So far, she’s continued going to school and acting as personal trainer and occasionally a bouncer at a popular club.
Insignia Level 1
Her insignia takes the form of a black dragon tattoo across her chest that is very often covered up.
Elasticity - Lvl 1- At this level, Vivien isn't capable of stretching much at will, but such a power does bestow on her the ability to take hits surprisingly well. A punch to any place on her body when her power is activated will just stretch that particular area doing almost no damage to no damage at all depending on how strong her opponent is. Sharp objects can't penetrate her form as easily as they could regular skin, and it would literally take being pushed/pulled passed her breaking point (about 3 feet as of right now) for her skin to finally snap and be "cut" in that regard. Her bones and internal organs also stretch and therefore don't take such physical damage either. Despite this limited offensive, her defense is certainly augmented by this, and Vivi can use the ability for up to fifteen minutes before she must rest. She can use her power up to five times a day if she's in good health.
Her passive is a sun bear cub she's dubbed Lance. He tends to cling to her back more often than not.
Extra
Vi or Vivi are both acceptable nicknames.
She has a habit of thinking in melded French and English because some words don’t translate well. She has to slow down to actually speak in one or the other.
She has a yellow motorcycle she gets around on usually but also has a yellow Bumblebee 2014 Camaro that she loves dearly.
She's a vegetarian but will drink milk and eat eggs.
