History Isis Urie was born into a considerably wealthy family with parents that replaced their love with objects. Her being the only child was probably what got her all the attention of those around her. Well, all except her parents. Her grandmother, aunts, uncles, the house maids and employees, the neighbors, they all seemed to love her. Actually, they loved her parents’ social status more than her but who cared? Attention is attention be it fake and with hidden intentions or genuine. Of everything she loved, new toys, food, clothes, she loved attention the most. And did she thank her parents for that. Getting people to fawn all over her was her favorite hobby.
As a grade-schooler, Isis was the perfect example of a good student. Perfect grades, appropriate behavior, whatever one would expect from her parents’ child. It should’ve been the perfect life, if only it wasn’t so boring. Afternoon lessons, social events, receiving present after present, whatever would thrill your average child would bore her now. To this she could only feel weird. Had being presented with these privileges since born numbed her? Everyday started becoming more and more boring. Somehow the kids in her class annoyed her with the smallest noise, the shortest glance. Whoever had been a friend had now to act in a specific way for her to like them. Trouble began in third grade, when she started picking fights with whoever insulted her. It went from child’s play to blood shedding fights. She had already been to the principal’s office quite a few times now but her attitude remained the same. Her grandmother would blame her parents, the school staff started whispering. Word had it, the Urie’s house was actually a mess and apparently Isis suffered from some kind of abuse. Her parent’s reputation started falling so of course their attention to her would rise. Therapy sessions were attended to, psychologists were visited but nothing worked. That was just how she was; she didn’t have some sort of problem that was supposed to be fixed, and to the contrary everyone said, she sure didn’t want their attention.
At this point, Isis’ parents had given up. They let her do whatever and would pay for the damages later. In sixth grade it was decided where she would go to middle school. A fairly prestigious school where her mother attended to. Her grades were higher than average but normally, a student with her behavior problems would be denied entrance however, by her parents’ will and needless to say, money she had her spot in. This was when she decided, why not toy with her parents? She’d act proper and well behaved for a month and then go back to her normal self the other. To her parents it seemed that every time she started acting bad again, she came back worse. Isi started stealing. Packs of gum and candy were her limit in middle school. Whenever she tried for big things, she’d get caught but this only encouraged her to find new techniques to avoid it. Everyone questioned her. Annoying her classmates and picking fights could be seen as normal in comparison to theft; after all, why do it when she had the money to buy double of what she stole? Well they were the ones she didn’t understood. They didn’t get the thrill you get when you pass through the store doors with a hidden article in your purse. Not knowing if her method worked or she’d get caught. They were the weird ones here.
As she began high school, her mother fell ill and soon enough died. No warnings or signs she just took off one day. Isis was affected by this. Even if she didn’t had the strength in the feelings she harbored toward her mother like she was supposed to, she was still the one who gave her life and without her there, she’d only get to see one reaction toward her crimes. How boring. From her father she kept hearing ‘think about your mother’ ‘what your mother would want’ ‘is this how you honor her memory?’ Please, she didn’t do her any good when she was alive why now that she was dead? Sure, she missed her nice cooking and occasional advices but that didn’t mean she’d turn her life around because she died. Isis continued in her ways. Bad reputation at school, at the streets, you name where. She had close to no friends but with her looks still had a couple of confessions here and there and that was enough attention for her. Not that romance was interesting. She never accepted or had the intention to but it was nice.
Last year of high school and her crimes became worst. She’d been in juvenile a few times, how wouldn’t she? Her theft wasn’t with gum anymore she liked stealing cars. Fights weren’t only at school and she had sent some to the hospital. Of course, her strength wasn’t superhuman so it was more the times she went than the times she sent. This would wear her father. He promised her, one more stunt and she’d be kicked out. Isis tried. She really did but when seeing that tempting minivan parked outside her favorite shop, no lock on the doors, bags scattered over the seats, come on. It’d be so easy, like eating a bar of chocolate. And she loved bars of chocolate. Her father was furious. She was asked to pack all her stuff and was sent off with only enough money to find a place to live and probably maintain herself for a couple of months. Going to family was the first thing on her mind but no one would take her in. So much for being family. Eventually, she gave up and moved on her own.
With the way she’d been raised she knew next to nothing about handling money and soon her father’s money was gone. Finding a job proved an impossible feat and she gained quite some enemies by borrowing money. More like stealing money. Borrowing meant she had to return it someday. This made her wish easy. Normally, she’d bang her head against the walls because of all the possibilities but hey, with her debts paid off she wouldn’t have people hunting for her head every time she went out.
Insignia Level 1 Isis insignia is what looks like an eye right under her left ear. Tattooed in purple, only the outer shape and iris are inscribed. To activate her ability she has to rub her insignia which will emit a faint glow when she does.
"Illusion planting" - Level 1 - has the ability to make other see things that aren’t there. At this level however, she can only make her target see simple things such as a tree, a cat, a door, etc. and cannot make the victim see more than one illusion at a time. For her ability to work, she has to be within five meters of her target and can only use it for a maximum of three minutes. The illusion effect wears off the more she uses it on the same person. Around the third use, the target will be able to tell it’s not real. Isis doesn’t use her ability a lot because it causes her an intense headache after its use. Her vision also becomes blurry to the point where she can’t recognize nothing for an indefinite amount of time, it depends on the amount of time she used her ability.
The Passive is a snowy owl that follows her around. Sometimes she doesn't notice he's there, but this could mean he might be resting on a nearby tree or somewhere hidden. Isis doesn't talk much to him but when she does it's usually a short conversation for he is a quiet owl. She never named him and instead just calls him 'owl'.
Extra
- Doesn't necessarily love animals but definately has a soft spot for them. She can't hurt anything beyond insects, and when presented with an injured one prefers to look away and pretend to know nothing.
- Candy, candy, candy. You'll usually see Isis chewing gum ir with a lollypop in her mouth. Her room is littered with different candy wraps, no joking.
- Is actually good at her current job. She never would've imagined she'd end up as a waitress but it's somewhat likeable. Tips and sometimes compliments from costumers, it doesn't get better than that.
