A vicious wind was blowing in off the ocean as the girl made her way toward her destination. It was later on in the day, not quite dinner time yet, but also not lunch time either. This basically meant that the restaurant would have a slight lull in customers and Connor would have a bit of a break. And with things slow, Harper would be more than capable of helping him out if he needed it. She’d spent enough time at the restaurant over the years to more or less understand how things worked. Honestly, she would be helping her mother in the shop right now, but the women simply wouldn’t allow it. This was the third time she’d been kicked out and told to spend some time with her friends or something. Harper was more of a homebody than anything, though, so even when she was “kicked out” she had specific places she always went. Kenny’s shop, Connor’s restaurant, either of their houses. Just somewhere where she felt comfortable and at home.
As she stepped through the door of the restaurant, the warm air that greeted her was more than welcome. Her hands came out of her jacket pockets to try and force her thick white hair back into submission. In the end, however, she simply flipped it over and pulled it expertly up into a messy bun on the top of her head. It was a lot easier to manage it that way anyway. She stepped further into the restaurant, her eyes falling upon the green hair of her friend rather easily. It seemed that every member of their band had striking hair colors. Connor and Mina with their green hair, Kenny with his red hair, and her with her white hair. It suddenly occurred to her that their hair made Christmas colors, and a warm smile presented itself on her features as she approached the greenette.
“Heyyyy Connorrrr~” She greeted in a lilting musical tune when she reached him. She hadn’t exactly warned him she would be coming ahead of time, but these things tended to slip her mind.

Connor knew outside was fierce, cold, and he wanted to go dancing out in it. No snow- it never did snow that often down there, but it was fun none the less. Mina was much more sensitive to the cold- but he wasn’t. She liked to say he was oblivious to even temperature. As he settled down to fix several of the place settings and fold up new silverware, he found himself completely ignoring the outside world. While his thoughts decided to take little bipolar rabbit trails in a wheel of cheese he continued absently doing his job as if he was all there. The song he had poked Hayden and Mina for- something about darker things that turned into hope was still stuck in his brain. He could think of the lyrics- but he was always stuck on the melody. It was a softer and haunting tune compared to the rest of their more upbeat tones. He was even tempted to ask Hayden to play his violin since the boy was just amazing at the instrument. Mina could play the piano, but he wasn’t sure if I was okay to make a song focusing on those two when he had Harper and Kenneth that also were part of the band. It was true that Harper and Kenneth had pretty much ninety percent of the songs- but he still felt awkward. Maybe he should ask- His thoughts were interrupted as he practically fell sideways and slammed his elbow into the back of the booth in his falling to yelp as he stared halfway up to Harper. A slightly pained grin left his face- “Scaring me now aren’t you? Come on Harper- that ain’t nice!” He laughed towards her- as the red-green haired boy sat up. “It’s Christmas! Not Halloween!” Connor rubbed the elbow he accidently slammed in surprise- but was used to worse bruises. He gestured for her to sit across from him with a grin. “How are you?” The guitarist asked. Okay, so, she honestly hadn’t meant to scare Connor at all. She figured maybe he saw he coming out of the corner of his eye, or maybe her sudden appearance just wouldn’t have startled him… alright, well, looking back she could see why he had been startled. She grinned a bit, covering her mouth with her hand as a little giggle fell from it. She loved how high energy the greenette was. He always gave her more energy, and she felt younger when she was around him than when it was just her and Ken, or when she was with her family or something. Despite her little laugh, though, she was a bit worried about his elbow – that had sounded painful after all.
Either way, she allowed the topic of his elbow to drop for the moment as he gestured for her to sit down across from him. She slid into the booth easily, tucking a few strands of her hair that had fallen into her face back once again. She crossed her legs under the table, shrugging off her jacket as her body got used to the temperature in the restaurant. It would be neatly folded and placed to the side before her blue gaze returned to her friend. “I’m good~” She told him with a warm smile. “Mama’s just been trying to get me out of the house more lately, so I thought I’d come scare you.” She smirked at him a bit, sticking her tongue out for the briefest of moments. Her face would sober thereafter, however, as her gaze dropped to his elbow. “Are you okay?” She questioned in a more serious tone.

As Harper got herself situated he shifted in his seat to fix himself from looking like a sprawled drunkard. His elbow was singing as loud as he normally did and his whole arm felt numb. Sheesh. Too bad he didn’t have like healing powers or something. Connor stuck his tongue out at her childishly when she did, before grinning. “I’m fineeee, just stings a little. I’m sure your mother just adores you. My mom loves me helping out here. She rarely ever sends me outside unless it’s….” He paused. “…Actually she sends me outside a lot, crap.” The red-green haired boy laughed a little. “So I guess we’re not all that different! Our moms want a little alone time!” Resting his uninjured elbow on the table and letting his head rest against a curled fist he gave a silly grin. “I enjoyed last practice. I really felt like we hit an awesome note.” The memory of thinking about having one song with Hayden and Mina came to mind. “Hey, I got a question for you.” He paused. “Feel free to say no, cause it’s up to you and Ken…but I kind of wanted to have a song that was just Hayden and Mina. It’s something that Mina kind of inspired…so it was up to you if you guys would be okay with that.” With the toybox looming it’s not like they had anywhere to release it to…but hopefully when the whole thing blew over…it would be a really nice hit online. Being around Connor never failed to make the white-haired girl smile and laugh. He was adorable, really, and he’d been her friend for a very long time. Harper liked being around her friends, perhaps almost to the point where she could be considered ‘clingy’. She tended to get upset and anxious if she went for too long without talking to them, but that never really happened. As he assured her that his elbow was fine, her blue gaze traveled to it momentarily before she returned it to his eyes. “I guess they do!” She agreed, grinning. “Bet they’d get real tired of running things without us if we stayed gone too long, though~” She went on to say. Well, she was the one who kept the books for her family’s business. She was better at it than her mother or grandmother.
She nodded enthusiastically to him when he brought up their last practice. “It was great~” She agreed briefly before he brought up his question. He wanted to do a song with Mina and Hayden? She smiled a little, tucking some of her unruly hair behind her ear. “Well, I can’t speak for Kenny, but I would be fine with it.” She told him, grinning warmly. “I’m sure it’ll be really pretty if it was inspired by Mina.” Really, Harper was just more excited to hear it than anything. She didn’t get jealous or upset too very often… perhaps she could be possessive sometimes, but not over Connor when it came to their fellow band members.
