Akane was very worried that a friend down the line might pressure her to eat grass. It made her stomach convulse in disgust. Shaking it off as quickly as she could though not to offend anyone listening or Sagira herself, she tried to settle back into not looking so alarmed at such a prospect. “I know Yuki’s cat eats it to soothe her stomach…but I am afraid I don’t even know why besides if they are…plant-eaters.” She paused trying to find the English word she was looking for. “Herb…ivores..” She said slowly, as to test out the word on her tongue. She rarely used it- the only reason she consistently knew about it was because of Yuki and her obsession for animals who ate meat. She gave a long rant about how they were omnivores and something that confused Akane further.

“I see. It must…be a strange request even here.” She was just proud she was keeping up the conversation without offending Sagira so far. She smiled to her companion and nodded. “I enjoy fruit smoothies…I do not know of many places that make them though. Do you have a favorite place?” Akane knew they were at least going in the right direction- Yuki made sure that they both knew the school layouts that they would pick each other up from. The café was rather usual because Yuki liked their fruit that they stored there. She was glad that Sagira continued to speak with her though. Akane could almost feel a smile pulling on her lips at the fact.

There were little people who approached her so boldly and friendly. She enjoyed it. The little raven couldn’t wait till she could bounce up to Yuki and spin her around and tell her she had a conversation and maybe made a friend. No wonder everyone made friends in college if they could…it was so nice. Her brain hadn’t felt this active all day!

A surprised look came to Sagira’s features as Akane explained that cats ate grass. She assumed Yuki was the sister Akane had referenced earlier considering their names held a similar foreign-ness, and even if that weren’t the case right then and there, the thought of cats eating grass was what had captured her immediate attention. Didn’t cats hunt mice and things, though? That was what she thought, anyways. Then again, Sagira had never kept pets before, really. Her father had always said no in some form or fashion, and when she had rebelled and attempted to keep one or two animals she’d found on the streets, it never ended well. A lump formed in Sagira’s stomach. You ok? a voice questioned in the back of Sagira’s mind, and had she not detected the lack of actual sympathy in the tone, Sagira might have mentally replied back. She pushed it away, however, both the thought and the voice. She wouldn’t deal with that now.

Focusing on the rest of the conversation, Sagira mentally settled again. Did she have a favorite place? Looking thoughtful, Sagira attempted to recapture the places she’d been in the city since having arrived what felt like so long ago now. “There’s a place up the street from school, actually,” she paused glancing sideways to Akane. “Fruit Hub, I want to say. They specialize in just that, and they’re a little pricy but have the best around.” A nod was given as Sagira reassured herself of her own words. “We should go sometime!” she decided aloud abet warmly after a moment. “Maybe do some homework there or something since they have tables and a decent atmosphere,” she jabbered on growing more excited with this idea every second. “How does that sound?”

In her distraction, Sagira had not seen a paper laid out on the floor, perhaps dropped by someone who knows how long ago. However, just as she stepped on it, it slid out from her, and suddenly Sagira was falling forwards and grasping at anything she could get her hands on to balance. A sharp ‘atch’ sound followed.
