It was getting later in the season, and if he had to look back, Julius would find himself wondering where the time had gone. Surely it couldn’t have been swallowed up by a distortion in the world around them could it? Julius didn’t want to think on that; he didn’t like the idea of supposed gods ruling the towns let alone their hand on actual time passage. At least a few things stayed constant- like his drive to the flower shop after work. Though flowers were for only a moment or two in time, they could still convey a feeling in time and convey a simple adoration in a moment. For his wife, for the woman he adored, Julius enjoyed getting them.
Rolling up the street, turning, and eventually parking in front of a flower shop, Julius stretched before pushing open the door, stepping out, and heading up to the door. Whereas some might have hesitated at the front whether out of uncertainty or due a pause in order to plan mentally what to ask, Julius simply stepped inside with the confidence of one that knew what he was doing. The small bing of a bell caught the blue haired man’s attention only briefly as he drew inwards glancing at the various bouquets on display and the flowers waiting to be melded into a design behind them. While those on display were beautiful in their own right, Julius preferred to have his own arranged when he wasn’t looking for a simple singlet.
Coming up to the front, he offered the young man behind the counter an easy sort of smile. “Afternoon, Landon,” he spoke casually. While he only really knew the kid on the clerk-shopper level, after having frequented the shop for so long, Julius felt he could be less formal with him. “What’s new?”

Landon had been bustling back and forth as he created several bouquets for a wedding. The bride was rather nasty to everyone but because of his rather obedient demeanor was overlooked by her. While she screamed at everyone else, she would just give him a small huff and leave him alone. Hence the reason he had finished the ridiculously overdone bouquets that made little sense for a December wedding. However she wanted roses and as a paying customer, he had no right to deny her. At least she hadn’t picked hideous colors and he was being paid quite a good amount of money. Cadeyrn murmured his acceptance as he slept under the desk. Cadeyrn was his ‘familiar’ in a sense and the ghost-twin was only rather visible to him. So as he lounged under the desk and only barely gave anyone attention the flower shop man was darting here and there. Once he put the last bouquet together, he was pleased to know he was finally done. That was forty he did in the past two days- and he was pleased. He was getting them picked up tomorrow morning, leaving it perfectly fine for him to finally relax. Cadeyrn was not going to help matters however if he thought Landon was finally free so Landon bode his time organizing stuff behind the desk once more. Hearing the bell, Landon gave a small look up. Giving a smile to the rather familiar customer. “Mr. Pierson.” He greeted. The man was very nice to him and Landon thanked all those customers that were. Plus he was such a sweet husband who continued giving his wife flowers and he knew the man was a good father. There wasn’t much not to like about him in Landon’s honest and rather narrow opinion of him. However despite him being so nice- Landon continued to always give him his last name in response- because he was always trying to be respectful. “N-Nothing new. I j-just finished…making a bunch of b-bouquets for a wedding. A-Are you getting your w-wife something today?” His stuttering, or dragging out syllables were always easier to control around people he liked. A brief glance to the almost…ridiculous flower explosion to his left, he thought it was obvious he was doing a wedding, but he could always say it. Tag:@ Julius Pierson

As Landon returned the greeting, Julius smiled and gave a nod before asking the simple question. While many customers may have simply set up an order with little regard to the florist involved, Julius was not the type of person to do so, especially considered he frequented a shop as much as he did. As a police officer, even if he wasn’t a mainstream patrol officer, Julius felt it was good to know the faces of those in the area for multiple reasons, and just in general, he liked being aware of those in his surroundings. Landon was a good kid from what Julius could tell, anyways.
Paying attention to Landon’s words (considering if he didn’t, the stuttering made things mildly confusing, sometimes), Julius blinked surprised at the response. Light eyes shifted and reflected the explosion of flowers, but only after did their meaning truly make sense— or bright up more questions for Julius. Who would want to get married in such a cold season? Why not wait until spring or fall? Why get married with the toybox situation as it is? That was Julius’s true question whether he wanted to admit it or not. Cut off from the rest of the world, put in a game of cat and mouse, Julius couldn’t understand how some could just go on with their lives. Perhaps it was just human nature in a dark situation, but Julius certainly couldn’t understand it.
“I see,” he replied briefly before Landon went on asking a regular question. A softer smile came to the blue haired man’s features thereafter. “Yes, though I’m not sure what want just yet,” he admitted allowing his arms to fold and one hand to set on his chin as he regarded the mass of roses. Roses were nice, but they seemed so… generic, especially when in such numbers. “Do you have anything fit for the season but still nice?” he asked glancing back to Landon thereafter.

Landon really did think Julius’ love for his wife was admirable and inspiring. He was sure the family had ups and down especially in the toybox- but he continued to get her something quite often which made his heart beat a bit happier. People existed that made him really happy about life- and Julius was one of those people. One of those people who took good care of their family no matter what. He hoped his family cherished him just as much as Julius’ cherished them. Seeing the blue haired man’s brief look towards the bouquets- he honestly wondered what the man thought about them. Not just for appearances sake, but weddings in general. Landon gave a small smile at the question. Yes, there were always things that were great in winter. “…I-I was working with some for the w-wedding, maybe you would like t-them.” He turned to the cooler to look over the flowers on the lower shelf, hidden from the counter. Ranuculus asiaticus- the Persian Buttercup or White Ranunculus. It was the first one to come to mind since he was working with them earlier. “T-They mean ‘I am dazzled by your c-charms.’” He pulled several white ones out- hoping that they were at least something he could enjoy now or later in the future. Placing them on the glass counter, he gave a bright smile up towards Julius. “T-There’s a few s-stories about these- but there’s many n-names to count. M-Most commonly it-it’s called a P-P-Persian Buttercup, but it could a-also be called White R-Ranuculus’.” He elaborated but spoke no further on the subject, letting the man examine the flowers. Hopefully he could enjoy the ones he picked out, if not, there were plenty more. Tag:@ Julius Pierson < These are the pretty babies >

The smile on the young man’s face put Julius at ease, and as Landon spoke, a general interest did come to his gaze. Leaning a little to watch as the young man retrieved flowers from below, Julius allowed his gaze to flood the white cups of flowers critically. Though he was far from a florist, Julius had taken biology courses when in school, and what flooded his mind was not the name of the particular specimen but the overall look of health that it held. They were pristine and granted a softer expression on Julius’s features as a result. While there was a general expectation that all florists would keep their flowers looking prim and perfect, Julius knew that wasn’t always the case He liked this particular flower shop because it held and maintained his expectations rather perfectly, and he appreciated that.
As Landon began to explain what the flowers meant, Julius glanced back to him. It had since stopped surprising him that the young man knew such meanings, but it was still impressive that he managed to find ones with meanings that fit exactly what Julius was looking for. “I see,” he replied gazing down at the few that had been pulled out and how thy reflected all angles through the glass. Carefully moving one in particular over to gaze at the petal set more carefully, Julius half listened as Landon spoke. Finally glancing back up at the young man again, he offered a smile. “This one is perfect, Landon,” he stated raising the particular one that had caught his eye. “I think I’ll take it.” He smiled simply after.
--- They are gorgeous.

Landon moved to stand a little taller when the man’s eyes were on him. Landon was never sure what exactly to think about Mr. Pierson’s view- but he was never one to turn away a repeat customer. He forced himself to keep his hands from nervously twitching or playing with his hair. It was rude- he was told. Sister dearest knew that- and told him that. The brief mention of his sister made his eyes grace the flowers again before he pushed her out of his mind. A woman- that’s what she was now – that told him to leave her be. Her visage disappeared in front of his eyes as he tilted his head towards the blue haired man once more. Hearing his affirmative, Landon gave an easygoing smile. “I’m g-glad.” He answered- leaving off anything else. Julius came in for a flower not a discussion. Turning from the man- his fingers curled to station behind him- briefly looking at the ribbon he would be using. “What c-color would you like for the bow, Mr. Pierson?” Briefly he moved out of the way to show him the collection of colors. “Many c-colors go with the white, so you h-have a good c-canvas.” Depending on the colors that Julius chose- he would add the paper with a tint. Perfect for a single flower. After hearing his response- Landon would only give a nod. “Would y-you like it in a vase?” The white haired man asked- knowing he needed to get one from the back if that’s what he wanted. He wanted to make sure that Julius had everything he needed for his wife’s gift. It was one thing he could do well- and the one thing Landon hoped that others would come to rely on him for.
