History
Once upon a time, she was born to Juliette and Christopher (Senior) Evans in Boston. With a fraternal* twin she tended to be the more quiet of the two. Quiet, overly nice, and in a way, a doll. Preferring to dress up in clothes, she was not as outspoken or nearly as apparent as her twin. Afraid of her brother, afraid of the world around her, and terrified of the never ending hustle and bustle of Boston, she was not appeased easily by the toys her mother gave her or the stern but loving fatherly figure she was given. It wasn't that they weren't very nice people, but she always felt different than her twin and elder brother. She never required too much care as she was self-managing from an early age.
She was entertained by her toys for hours- or crayons while other children were running around and wanting to throw themselves into really stupid situations. She preferred to collect beanie babies and cook instead of wanting to go out of her way to dart around the playground. She was quiet and shy, but personable when you were able to look past her shell. She was sweet and childishly naive, but didn't go out of her way to play around with other children, preferring calmer adults and calmer animals to be around. Books were her favorite- hopscotch was her least favorite. She found herself always dreaming about weddings and dresses- but not for her. She thought those dresses were beautiful, but she didn't find the color appealing and she enjoyed making them more so than wanting to wear them.
TV shows were constantly on about weddings and they seemed to be a happy occasion. The constant love for those beautiful dresses - she appealed herself to her mother and asked for more feminine clothing more so than what her twin had. Her twin was more rambunctious than her, but they would get along almost alright. The twin would continue to finish her sentences and they could read what was going on through her head. While they could imitate each other- and they had a somewhat interesting language when it came to things- they were never ones that would switch places in school or anything of the sort. They were close when they were alone.
When Christopher was around however- her twin acted out and she shut down. Christopher terrified her. He was a demon in human skin to her- and she shut down whenever he was around. She would barely eat, converse, or do anything if he was in the room. He was the scariest thing to her - she heard her father talk about his more violent acts and his behavior and she knew her mother would never discipline him. This caused almost a heart-stopping fear that if she got on his wrong side (Like her twin did) she might get hurt and nothing would happen. Knowing this, and her small seven year old mind was rightly terrified of this monster.
When he moved off to boarding school - she settled a bit, making very few friends and making closer friends to the adults and getting closer to her twin. Since they were the same age and in the same class- there was no reason to separate them and they grew closer. Books were exchanged and they had a tentative agreement that they would do some things that the other disliked to make the other happy. So they were alright- she came out of her shell just enough with her father and mother's help. However this quickly changed when Christopher came back home. Putting a smile on her face- she faced him occasionally- but otherwise was the silent observer. She relied on her father's strength- as he told her he wasn't bad just misguided. However that did little to comfort her.
She drove herself into dresses and reading- trying to forget the outside world and eventually did start to ignore her twin- despite her really not wanting to have done so. Christopher got into drugs, all kinds of things, and 'Dimitri' as he sometimes called himself literally scared her to the bone. She knew he knew, but she wasn't sure if it was obvious to everyone else. When her father grew more ill, she was constantly by his bedside, helping her mother and being her father's right hand whenever he needed it. She grew more and more angry at people- acting like they cared when she knew it was all about money. This godforsaken /money/. Her brother? What brother? Her eldest brother was the only one she respected- and her twin she tried to still love- but most of her regained attention went to her father and her mother. She picked up housework and picked up the pills. She was just the housewife. Her mother tried to groom her - but the rage in her did not let her be bent around like a doll.
She would do what she wanted to do as soon as she was away from their mother. When her father passed- she took it very hard- growing rather depressed. He was the only one who knew of her fears, her dreams, her aspirations. Her mother wanted her to be some lady who was sociable and open. She did not do sociable and open. She learned how to pick up a facade quickly, being more of what her mother wanted her to be, and what her twin easily was. As soon as she was away, it dropped into a cold woman with the internal rage of men at war. Her friends grew distant from her as she cut things away from her life that would hold her back.
However when she moved to Georgia- she was somewhat pleased with the change in weather. The change in the air was good for her. While she wasn't sure how her twin decided to live- she was much more happy with the change in pace. While money still ran her elder brother's lives- she found that it was much easier to enjoy just the older and finer things. She found a club of rather old women who she found kinship with. She told them quite a few things, and she was glad to hear their stories. Their kindness healed her enough to search for more open things. While she was forced to go to college, she's working in American History and Psychology. They were rather boring majors compared to her twin's choices- but she felt pleased. Learning and reading books- and learning to read people like books? For a book-lover such as her, they were two great things to put together.
She lives on the plantation- but she keeps most of her life away from her family. The old ladies had become more of her family than her actual biological family. The women understood her. Her quiet nature, her more sadistic thoughts, and better yet, the urge to distance herself away from the toxic drama that followed her family like a alligator after a deer. She gained a job at a little bridal shop that she adores to death. She helps with alterations and dress fittings. She enjoys all kinds of different dresses- though she's usually wearing black or some other purple-like color to make sure all the focus is on the bride.
When the event happened, she didn't want anything to change. Her wish however came in the form of reading and memory. She is able to read faster and comprehend it more, as long as she understands the fundamentals. When she woke up in the world- her first call was to the elder women, not her own family. She was an Evans, but she was hardly their little girl anymore.
Insignia Level 1
"Fate Weaver" - Level 1 - The tattoo is a small red hourglass on the inside of her wrist. Touching it lets her gain small threads wrap around her fingers. While it's thin- almost invisible, it has the strength of normal fishing wire. It is rather easy to break- and quick to get tangled on things. She's able to keep these tangible once they're off of her- and she can use it as thread. There's no other special ability with the strings.
"Red" - A slightly larger than average Southern Black Widow- she is quiet creature who barely speaks. In fact, she seems to only communicate to Scarlet. She's able to use her legs to help Scarlet sow- and otherwise is a good and quiet creature that continues to be a 'friend' in this weird world. She's pretty much useless against a fully able-bodied person, even her poison is less deadly against healthy adults. Children and those with compromised immune systems beware. She is able to cleanse some poison out of Scarlet if she needs it- but only basically keep her alive if the poison is deadly enough. It cannot heal her of it.
Extra
- Shy Black Widow- Quiet, but certainly not to be completely forgotten. Her looks and her dresses have given her glances. She feels like she's crushed under the weight of them and trapped by her family and her own sister. She feels terrible that she feels that way. Her family hasn't done anything wrong. She just...wants to be free. Alone possibly. She likes to be reclusive.
- Adores Spiders- She always liked spiders- Particularly the black widow, hence the familiar. Spiders are venomous but also great hunters despite their small size. She rarely ever kills a spider- preferring for it to stay or remain outside. She's always been rather kind to them- preferring to be quiet and demure like they do and strike when one's caught in a web.
- Wishes to read a whole library- It's a strange wish- as she's particular in what she reads- but she eventually wants to collect enough books to have her own 'personal' library. She wants to have read every one. She has dreams of herself in a office decorated with beautiful books that has a tall open window that she sits in front of.
- Quick on her feet- Because of her sometimes clumsy nature- she's had to learn how to steady herself quickly. Also the mental stamina of dealing with fidgety brides doesn't exactly hurt either. She's quick to think up solutions and quicker to offer a 'smile'.
- Seamstress- She is able to make clothes- make alterations, and other such things to clothes. She would rather spend her time doing that then entertaining other people.
- Loves to wear black and dark colors- They're beautiful to her- and white is for the bride that she'll never be. She enjoys darker clothes- but she'll deal with more neutral ones when it comes to summer sundresses.
- Physically Unfit- She was never one to run, lift weights, or really do much exercising. She did her best to keep up with her sister, but she was a rather demure child who disliked going out and getting sweaty.
- Can't deal with people yelling at her- Her brother was terrifying when she was younger- and anytime there was fighting she felt like she needed to hide. She has a bad time dealing with yelling at her and she shuts down rather quickly to the point of as if she had completely forgotten the event.
- Secretly Vengeful- A girl doesn't kiss and tell- well Scarlet doesn't forget. This woman remembers everything you did wrong, everything that you could possibly do wrong, and probably will guess that you are a terrible person in general. She wishes she could get vengeance on her brother and other people who scared her- but she's too scared to raise her voice, she couldn't begin to plot anything else but horrible murder scenarios in her head.
