History
- Collin Fox was born out of a rather illicit affair between his mother and a offscreen father he knows literally nothing about. Collin was not praised and in fact he was thought of as the 'trash' of the influential family. When the father died- his mother had no one to actually tell about his secret so she raised her son as a Fox, because she believed he would always be one. His two older brothers were not kind nor overly cruel at first- because a little brother was a little brother. They seemed to get along well in the earlier years away from the eyes of their father. Their father- their biological father hated Collin quite a bit. If they weren't in the spotlight he constantly informed the boy that he would have been adopted because he had no place in the family.
-Collin dealt with this for many a year. He never felt like he fit in with his father but he did his best not to let that bother him. His mother wasn't overtly cruel either. She would tell him that she loved him and often did her best to get things for him that he could learn. However most of his childhood was spent under the care of a nanny. This nanny was named Hilda- and she was German-born. When this young boy confessed that nothing stood out from him- she offered to teach him a lesson in German. It was a surprise that he learned it easily- but she told him everything she knew. His mother pushed him to learn it as well- getting books that he could learn in basic German since it would do him good down the line.
- The earliest years of Collin were not overtly harsh- just not exactly loving or fulfilling. Hilda was the mother he knew- not his biological mother and he knew that made no one sad at all. It was when the economy wasn't doing so good that the elder brothers often picked up bullying the young boy since their father was home more often now. They showed no remorse- unlike their previous incidents. Collin hid for self preservation quite often. It was hard to say at that time if he was a boy or a small mouse. Dinner was often skipped and only made up if Hilda was there. While his mother wasn't exactly loving, it was wrong to say that she didn't care at least a little. She knew that her choices were making her two sons and husband treat the child cruelly. What did you do with a child who had no self confidence around tyrants? Give him power. Fill his head with narcissistic thoughts. Let him think that he was important when he never was. She brought him a tutor occasionally to teach him how to shoot a bow and arrow- as guns were much too flashy and would bring attention. However a young child learning archery? She would coyly hide her smile when her son did well- knowing it was just her genes that gave the kid a fighting chance- or so she thought.
- When he started to go to fancy and expensive private schools- he ran with these narcissistic thoughts and in general was a rather terrible child to anyone but adults. Seemingly adults would trigger a switch where the narcissism was held back. What was strange about this switch was it held the ideas and the reasoning that an adult would. Rarely was there a child held anymore. He did ridiculously well in school- believing the ease when it really wasn't true. He fought very hard to learn everything by himself- and only asked Hilda when he did something wrong. While she couldn't always help him- she always found someone who did. Hilda was everything to him- the one saving grace he did not have to fight for. Not one to train for. Not one to imagine the arrowhead maiming their faces. His skills with a simple bow and arrow were pleasing for everyone around him because instead of lashing out there were just torn up targets that had probably seen better days before they were given to a very aggressive child.
- He had always liked technology to a obsessive degree. Knowing that small devices had such a hold on the world- this unique view brought him the idea that it was something he would always work with. It was something that would spur the knowledge of early binary and writing codes to people that no one would understand. This feeling of freedom to say what he would like- even when his brothers ripped it up- they couldn't understand it. This freedom of speaking German and this new area- it was his area. They couldn't touch it. They couldn't call him useless. They couldn't ever touch him in cyberspace. He wanted to become to the best. He spent hours pouring over code and coding books- burning it into the back of his brain. He would grab what he wanted and take it for himself. This young scared mouse was turning into something that was ever-changing.
- This need to be the best was when he joined Italian classes and seemed to pick up on it moderately quickly. It was a time that he felt self-confident with himself. Everything was in control. He was second in his class- he sucked at any physical sport besides archery. He picked up video games- mostly things from overseas as he had other nerdy friends translate it for him. If anything, high school was a great time for him to come into himself-despite the bullies. He was used to bullies. What's new? They weren't anything special. They couldn't beat him up in public and he just had to be faster and smarter to get away from them elsewhere. Of course with the idea that he was a 'Fox' despite the real image that no- he was not, did help ease a lot of the bullying when there was suddenly threats made.
- College wasn't exactly easy or hard. Most of his friends couldn't afford the college he went to. He got scholarships that other people couldn't hope to have. He had his parent's money to burn through to make a good name for himself- to make sure he didn't embarrass the 'Fox' name. It was better than nothing- but he felt alone and isolated. New friends were harder to come by and he did drift a little inwardly- preferring that he wasn't even looking. He didn't need friends- he told himself. It was so cliche- he still laughs about it. But as friends were drifting, he was left by himself in a school and a name he never wanted. He finished all his core classes and he's right now working towards his Bachelor's as he goes to school nightly.
- Out of the blue one day, one of his friends asked him about seeing this 'guy' that they think would just be awesome. He was a wandering nomad (Which he seriously didn't understand why 'idiotic homeless guy' was a job) and that meant he was coming down to Georgia. Where was this guy even from?! For some reason he felt ridiculous drawn to the man- even if it was just the desperate need to have a friend. Either way- he accepted the guy into the house and the weird OCD guy was...just weird.
- The event made him reconsider his religious preference though he was no-so-glad to know that jerks still spied on him. His wish was simple- to learn more languages. He was assured that he would pick up more languages easier. Well he's still trying. He got Shane a job as janitor since they were stuck there. Ugh.
Insignia Level 1
"Tazer Arrow" - Level 1 - When he was younger, he could shoot a bow decently. While not the best- his aim has improved ridiculously since his insignia. A ebony bow appears in his hand with an arrow when he swipes his fingers down the newly yellow lightning bolt tattoo on his inner left forearm. The arrows are not meant to kill- only give you a tazer shock. It's not exactly pleasant- but it is not lethal.
His passive is a bit more simple. A small yellow tabby cat that tends to have the earshrieking voice only heard to him. So at times, he looks quiet insane yelling at a small yellow tabby cat to shut up. It tends to just pop in the most random of places. It is not known if the cat is able to speak to other people- all Cole knows is it's annoying.
Extra - Stone "Cold" Fox is not cute - For the longest time his friends indulged his need to be called this- but now it's just embarrassing. It's not cute. Since he prefers to be called 'Cole' most people think 'Cold fox' and it's terribly embarrassing. No, stop calling him that. It's not funny.
- Speaks German and Italian - His brothers were constantly touting achievements as a child he wasn't sure how to ever accomplish. However his German-borne nanny seemed fit to teach him something that he had. Pleased- he learned German fluently and often speaks in it. Italian was his next trip and he can speak mostly fluently- though sometimes a bit rigidly. He would like to learn another language, but so far he hasn't had the time.
- Clumsy Nerd - Despite being loud and sometimes outwardly narcissistic...he's actually just a giant nerd. He likes to cover up that fact but yes he does know when that next game is going to come out and yes he can only play DDR with a controller if he doesn't want to end up with a concussion.
- Hard Worker - He worked very hard to get where he is today. A prodigy in his own right computer wise, he doesn't take comments lightly when it's said that he had the best teachers. He had to fight his family tooth and nail to even get into something he loved and enjoyed. He had no support and he really didn't have a family. He refuses to think he didn't get there through his own hard work.
- Potty Mouth - If he's not in public and he's at home, he tends to be....really terrible. He mostly curses in other languages though so...most people just think he sounds like a very angry lunatic.
- Slob - He can find stuff in the mess he calls a house or a desk. While others are baffled how he functions with as much junk as he does...well he would like to know that too. He just can't seem to find anything when he cleans. It's this weird headspace that he would love to decipher...but at the same time he really doesn't care enough to find out.
- Video Game Junkie - He has a bit of a soft spot for MMO's/MOBA's and he's alright with a lot of point and click things. One of his weirdest spots is puzzle games or 'find the things' which he just enjoys quite a bit. He's a I-spy type of person.
- Loves fried food - No, he doesn't care if it's healthy. He likes fried chicken, steak, shrimp, you name it. He tends to just like anything related to fried food including a side of mashed potatoes and gravy.
- Ridiculously neat in coding - For a man who is a complete slob normally- he tends to have ridiculously neat coding. His comments are always spaced and informative- and his coding tends to be something that people rely on to understand basic things.
- Sees information as power - Being this analyst who hacks into things for the police and the person who monitors all kinds of stuff- he's not someone who you actually want to cross.
