History
Avery was a hyper, cheerful child. She was almost exactly the same as she is now. Personality wise, at least. She didn't have any siblings, but her mother and father kept her happy. Of course because her father worked in the military he was constantly absent from the house. But the time he spent home still made her happy. Her mother, on the other hand, decided she wouldn't get a job until Avery was old enough to take care of herself. She didn't support the idea of putting her in daycare. So, once Avery was about thirteen, her mother went off and got a job at a nearby bank.
School was only difficult for Avery when she began 7th grade. But middle school is often awful for everyone, so that's something to be expected. She was overwhelmed with work and pressure, especially with at-home assignments or homework. This was often a problem because her mother and father came home later than usual. On nights that she needed assistance, too. So Avery ended up either falling asleep, forgetting about it, or doing it, but at the same time drifting asleep. The same thing happened in 8th grade, as well. But she eventually pushed through it all, and finally enrolled into a high school.
Considering she was from one whole middle school alone, she was transferred to a high school. A random one---but she found a way to cope with the new changes. New friends, new classes and challenges. There were a whole list of them. And generally, in high school, Avery was seen as someone who constantly accepted challenges into her life. (Which made her glad they weren't in the same middle school.) But a sudden turn in her life caused her to swerve away from all the pressure and thought of constant success.
A boy who she had met on casual measures, had soon become her crush and friend. The two had several things in common. And he was just someone she could definitely trust and be around while feeling completely relaxed. It wasn't too long before the two became a couple---and they stayed that way throughout the rest of high school.
Avery was always thinking about Adam in school,
and sometimes she was late for classes because she was spending a little time with him throughout the hallways. But she found those little things cute and silly, instead of 'interruptions to her education' as her classmates and teachers would say. Either way she was keeping her grades up. She continued to work hard, even with Adam in her life. And everyone knew that. Even her own parents did.
From Junior to Senior, prom had finally come around. But both Adam and her had decided to go to dinner before the prom instead of participating in a crowded race to get food there. And the other seniors were a bit older then them, so it might have been awkward. Either way, Adam had a ring to give her, in which was offered to her after they ate. He told he loved her flat out while pulling out the ring for her. At that point, her heart had began threatening to beat right out of her chest. She was touched that he would do this for her, so, she just went along with it naturally.
The night ended, after they had kissed for the first time ever since they began dating, and Avery had told him that they would be going to the same college. Waiting for them both to finish college would have been too much for her--- so thank goodness she had made that final decision.
By then, they had both began college. Of course they got too see each other every so often, but he was usually busy with his own business. And she was busy with her own as well. And interest of hers, ever since she was a child, was becoming an elementary teacher. She loved small children...and she found herself having a lot of patience for them. The girl had also been known as being very understanding. So she started volunteering in nearby schools--- as a substitute, or some kind of assistant. This kept her constantly busy, but it was enjoyable all the same.
Adam and her had finally graduated from college after awhile. Avery had taken many standard tests and attended many different programs for elementary teaching--- and, finally, she had become an official elementary teacher at early 23. Of course she still offered to volunteer at other places...but considering she now had a responsibility of many children, she often refused any options.
She continues to live alongside Adam as his girlfriend- almost closer than that. And she still has her job as a teacher, while Adam works with the law.
Insignia Level 1
On her right shoulder, a small wren is settled onto the stem of a rose, this being her insignia. It resembles her endurance. The wren and rose aren't completely detailed- just black figures. But they mean much more than just 'figures.'
"Helping Hand" - Level 1 - This is a companion-type insignia, that is mostly for defensive uses. She can summon a guard-type humanoid that can either assist her or completely protect her. This, most likely being a time when she's in danger and nobody else is around.
This companion has a very unique way of effecting her. It can fight for as long as Avery wants. But the problem is, the longer it fights, the more painful or severe the side effects will be. A five minute fight might cause a very slight headache.
Ten minutes, it may cause unnecessary weakness and an additional headache. Eventually, if the companion goes on for too long, she may just pass out. Once again, it depends on how long she choses to use the assistant. So she has the responsibility of keeping track of time.
Extra Cooking Experience - Avery has always loved cooking. Whenever she is depressed, or she is thinking about something that definitely bothers her, she'll cook. Because eating food also helps take her mind off of things. And she'll make food for anyone, too. After all, it is a hobby of hers.
Loves Animals - She's never had a cat, a dog, any kind of little hamster or anything. Not even a fish. Her parents told her they were afraid to see her when they passed away/ran off/etc. But she's definitely been to a zoo before, and she's always been interested by animals.
Fear of Jellyfish - Jellyfish give Avery the creeps. As a child, she accidently stepped on the head of a dead one at the beach. It didn't hurt her at all, of course, considering it was only the head. But ever since...she's hated Jellyfish.
Dislikes the Heat - She'd rather be freezing than burning up in the sun any day. Too much heat, for Avery, triggers migraines that she finds completely unnecessary. It's caused her to hate being to hot, and to love winter and snow.
Pacifist - Pretty ironic, right? She has a violent companion, and yet, she really doesn't like violence. Even when it is necessary--- she hates seeing someone in pain. She tries to keep this part of her a bit hidden. But it's definitely difficult that way.
