His father took power to his head and often abused both the boy and his wife. While this went on for a while- it didn't get any better when his wife took her own life. Alastair rarely had a bond with her besides the woman who would cry in the house- so he didn't take it nearly as hard as a normal child with a normal healthy bond would. The evidence left behind from his father's abuse however didn't do much to satisfy his position as a chief in office. Fired and publically humiliated- Alastair was taken from the home at sixteen. - His foster parents were alright- not good or bad - but he was never really found to be close to them. The next door neighbor he had a bond with- a rather elderly old woman who spoke about life and their winding trails. She talked about her deseaced husband that died in the line of duty. It was this man he never met that sent him wanting to go to the police academy. He finished highschool and stepped into the line of duty. It took around six months to get through the academy and another probationary time before he became a cop. He met many people in that time- including his wife, Selene. It was an awkward but satisfying relationship - and he gained a new family. Selene and him had a child three years later. - Sadly, roughly seven years passed and Selene was fatally killed in a car crash. While he had just began his job as a dectective, the man had a hard time adjusting to be a single father and keep his job and life afloat. He managed to make it work, but it was rather hard. His son spent most of the time with his father and mother in law. They were both better parents than he at the time- and he still did his best to make his son happy. - The 'event' was strange enough to say at the least. He stared up one of the bringers and granted a wish. For one day each year- he would interact and could hold his wife that day. The whole day is theirs. He hasn't seen this day yet, so he doesn't know if it's correct. However if he has to do his job and catch criminals to hold his wife at least once more? He'll throw away his very sanity for him and his child. Insignia Level 1 "Assault Dog" - Level 1 - With a flick of his wrist- he's able to summon what looks like a terrifying long haired auburn shepherd. It leaps and attacks the other person- and isn't able to be killed- but it can be harmed and that harm reflects back onto Alastair. With timing and precision, he hopes to use it for good. He's named it 'Wolf' for short, but he refers to the ability as 'assault' since the dog is more tuned to attack than use it's nose for drugs or contraband. - Passively, it shows up as a auburn shaggy shepherd. It seems to understand everything- and has a love for Melody and cats that he's not sure that he understands. The female dog is just weird to him, he's not sure what to do with it. Extra Loves to read - A regular man with an obsession with books is clear in this one. He loves reading- and if he's not pouring over some reports from work, he's normally reading something else. You'll find him with thin framed glasses that he takes very good care of. He has several pairs, one that's usually in his extensive little library. Does have a few weapons around the house - He's always collected swords, knives, and other such things in his lifetime. He can use a sword and a knife moderately well- though he'll always use a gun when it comes to the job. He normally has a issued knife around his ankle though. Has two retired police dogs - It was weird- he was sure, but dogs had always liked him. He trained them well and the two K-9 cops in the area already had more than one dog at home with their families. It was almost fate when his wife died that he somehow gained two dogs to take care of. At first he resented them, but he knew Selene would have loved them- so he takes very good care of them. Their names are Jack and Joker. Jack is a saddleback German Shepherd while Joker is a pure black shepherd. Has one cat - More so his wife's obsession with cats that he still takes care of the stray that was around the police station. Left as a kitten- the small thing always had a scratched up eye- but never did that let it slow her down. Melody, for her weird meowing traits, tends to always worm her way into his heart. He'll take her up to the station when there's only paperwork to do, since she stays out of trouble and gets along well with everyone- though it's rare that he puts her in that situation. He normally tries to use her traits with small scared children. It gets along well with the dogs. Internally sarcastic 24/7 - This man is as cynical as all get out. He's bitingly cruel and he tends to keep it to himself. Therefore most of his thinking is terribly sarcastic monologue that sounds nothing like his friendly voice or mostly taciturn face. It took him four months to realize how a smartphone worked - He's not proud of that. Does not like alcohol - His father drank quite a bit of it, he just doesn't like the smell. He likes people watching - Maybe it's the new detective in him...but he always wonders what people are capable of. It's amazing to him how such simple thinAgs evolve into murder and harming others. He's had the same partner for the past five years - It's a bit weird, but he has a good friend. He goes to visit his wife's grave as much as he can - He's probably the number one visitor besides the own ground staff.
