She had immediately stepped into the role of someone who could lead her group to victory. The fight being a history paper and the role being taking everything for herself and doing it because the two boys in her group were lazy sacks of rocks. She had huffed her way at them, even threatening them with her whip- but they seemed pleased as punch to let her do everything. She had hoped they would change- but of course they didn’t. Ridiculous people none the less, she had taken this job on her shoulders and she was going to ride around with her well-deserved grade and the rest of the class could take a whip to the face. She had quickly darted to her library to check out a few books- gleefully chatting with those who would help her- and now she was bringing those books back to check out some more.
The library was always a place she would love to be more. She honestly would have worked there if the pay was good enough. Tucking some raven hair behind her ear- the girl quickly moved closer to the library, making sure to follow every crosswalk. Danika pulled her computer bag closer to her- though it didn’t hold a computer- it made her feel a bit more fashionable even if the thing was old. Backpacks were annoying after all and hardly anyone wore them correctly anymore! Letting them slouch down like their own pants. She huffed at the thought of it- finally on the steps to the library. Her maroon eyes looked up above her to check the time and the weather briefly before she walked inside much more calmly then she had darted to get there.
The surroundings made her smile, feeling calmer than she normally did. The smell of books was an unforgettable smell- one much better than money or perfume. Though she couldn’t say they were better than her favorite gems. Taking the rather familiar route to drop off her books- she spotted a familiar face. Wesley- the librarian. She had tried to forge a good bond with her librarian- since she saw it as a healthy and mutual path towards knowledge. He did his job, she got her books. It was a pretty good relationship!
“Hi Mr. Wesley.” She greeted softly- mindful of her voice. She pulled out her books to quietly slide them onto the counter. “How are you today?” It took her a minute to put all the books down- since she had checked out five- but she was probably going to have even more when she left today.
